Some thoughts on Blandford Forum Central this time -is the Tory candidate really called Noc -he is on the SOPN! Is it short for something?Worse than Zac!
Looks like last time in a 2 member ward Lib Dems and Labour each put up only one candidate, while Tories had two, so it looks as though there was an (unofficial?) pairing between LD with Indy and Labour with Green? Anyone know that that was actually going on? This seat was being fought for the first time on these boundaries of course after getting rid of former single member seats.
Fascinating place, Blandford Forum. It helps to be a Bastard there!

His full name is on the Notice of Election Agents
LACEY-CLARKE Nocturin Bilbo Laffayette (Commonly Known As: Noc Lacey-Clarke)
So he is named after a medicine used to treat urinary incontinence, a hobbit, and a city in Louisiana, which is somewhat eclectic to say the least!

Oh thanks-didn't think to look at the Agents! It gets better, or rather worse. The third name of course can be a revolutionary Frenchman rather than the Louisiana city named after him. In fact all the candidates names in this election are very Blandford Forum (a place that was Chipping Blandford until the Bastards decided to tart up the name)

Is it the no-overall-control that requires the Nocturin?

If that spelling Laffayette is correct, it looks like he's actually named after a Mexican hotel. However, if it is Lafayette, he could be named after any of about 30 different American cities, and one or two French villages. Still it could have been worse, at least his first name isn't Noctorum.

The turnout in Fallowfield is a whopping 9.36%. Will there be more than 1,000 votes to count? The GE electorate was just over 10,000, so I'd have thought the local government electorate was a bit larger. So, maybe or maybe not.
