Yesterday Kurz was interviewed and reacted in a very souvereign way.
Will be far tougher than expected for SPÖ or FPÖ to attack him on policies after SummerHolidays.

ResearchAffairs - who had a bias towards Hofer/FPÖ last year - asked for preferred coalitions:  So, Austrians are obviously demoralised enough by SPÖVP to be ready for ÖVP&FPÖ... (What was very different a decade ago.) |

@odo, what exactly is PILZ? It is certainly a new party but I have never heard of them before. Is it another splinter group of a larger party?

Petr Pilz is a veteran Green who has a more critical view of Islamization and immigration than the party (though he isn't "far right" in any way, just "realist") and has founded his own list. FPÖ-MP Hübner made abroad some remarks, which were denounced by the media as antisemitic.
SPÖ and ÖVP have threatened to refuse a FPÖ-coalition as long as Hübner is present.
Interestingly he ruled out ("out of my own free will") to be on any ElectionList, what indicates, that FPÖ intends to participate in government.

ExGreen Peter Pilz cannot take part in the coming discussions at PublicBroadcaster ORF (his main problem), but the left journalists and tabloid "Krone" (what means: everyone) court him at lot.
This week Pilz was on a small private channel with few viewers and performed quite strongly.
Afterwards OGM polled once again 500 consumers.
"... was convincing":
63% Kurz (ÖVP)
50% Kern (SPÖ)
48% Strache (FPÖ, relatively strong)
39% Strolz (NEOS)
33% Pilz
27% Lunacek (GREENS)

SPÖ apparently won't compete with Kurz and FPÖ in Austrians' TopPriority: Security&ImmigrationIssues (as T.Silberstein wanted them to do).
Instead, social goodies, especially pensions, are promised.
Out of desperation in a very demagogical way ("Take, what You deserve!"), what naturally ruinates Kern's image as Austria's Macron, as a smart manager promoting economy.

One cannot even have compassion with a helpless NewComer like Kern:
- Numberless u-turns in policy and campaigning, presenting Kern first as a manager, now as a fighter for the poor, sometimes between as an AntiErdogan aso.
- SPÖ (still!) wants the first to form the government automatically, because "the second id the first loser"
- "Take, what You deserve!" brought up by a criminal, whose problems with foreign courts have been known for years
- apparently that criminal worked (partly) free at charge, while one of his private companies received a 1/4 million from AustrianLotteries for nothing (and exPM and Kern-pusher Gusenbauer sitting in both)
- who is replaced by someone, who posted Qualtinger's "CrippleSong" against handicapped Hofer (FPÖ) last year

I look forward to the SPÖ being kicked out. Maybe now they can find a decent leader rather than just inflict whichever terrible internal choice they make upon the nation.
Unfortunately, then I remember a) the FPÖ and b) the SPÖ's brothers in Proporz. Poor Austria.

FPÖ presented their economical platform yesterday.
As expected it is very similar to ÖVP, both parties are obviously competing for those 10-15% of ShopHolders and SkilledWorkers, who have elected BZÖ or TeamStronach.
Like ÖVP they want to reduce the TaxBurden from 43% to 40%, a minus of ~14 billions, and like ÖVP without naming any concrete cuts ("simplification of administration").
The only surprising aspect is, that the FPÖ openly demands to raise the age of retirement, what is very unpopular and what means, of course, that they are very certain to be part of the next government.

An austrian Grillo - a left (pseudo)comedian - founded a JokeParty "G!LT" ("gilt" = "it is valid") in order to attract Protest&NonVoters.
Now it came out, that the FrontRunner - coincidentally elected by straw - is a neo-(pseudo-)pagan crackpot, what was not seen as a problem by those, who are not aware, how common AntiSemitism is in those sects (and to what extent Hitler, Himmler aso. were "esoteric" insiders). But he proposed on his HomePage "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion", creating the usual hypocritical hysteria, a nihilistic cynism ending in the traps of a humourless "political correctness" - a caricature of a satire...

As Austria has several small privateTeleVision-channels - ServusTV, Puls4, ATV; oe24 (from the NewsPaper "Österreich) - an endless number of debates are scheduled (i have read somewhere, that Kurz and Kern will meet 7 times!).
Most important is certainly public broadcaster ORF, whose preDebates ("SummerTalks") at 9 p.m. are mostly over (Kern/SPÖ will be next week). Watchers:

The moderator handled Kurz aggressively for being too unconcrete, what should rather help Austria's favourite SonInLaw.
