Most results do not surprise, but totally unexpected is, that the new FPÖ of 1956 got most voters not from VdU/WdU - instead from those, who had been NonVoters in 1953! Sorry, wrongly reported by journalists! A look at SORA itself shows now, that 82% of FPÖ-1956 came from WdU-1953. |

Revolution in Austria (at least in A.'s "PsephoLogy"): The institute SORA has conducted since 1986 VoteStream-research for the media. Their method was to collect from municipalities precinct-results This was also misunderstood by journalists: The institute made it clear in a letter, that they used precincts - but only the Viennese ones and only since 1999. 1945-1995 they took the municipalities (except those changed/merged/abolished/...). 1919-1930 they relied on the CourtDistricts (A.'s districts [~70.000 inh.] were formerly consisting of 2-3 juridical districts). |

Revolution in Austria (at least in A.'s "PsephoLogy"): The institute SORA has conducted since 1986 VoteStream-research for the media. For LowerA. they made surveys for historic elections (i published some of them in my essay on LowerA.). Now they released studies for all elections since 1919!!! Their method was to collect from municipalities precinct-results (districts, regions and the federal HomeOffice do not have them collected!). Look at www.sora.atMost results do not surprise, but totally unexpected is, that the new FPÖ of 1956 got most voters not from VdU/WdU - instead from those, who had been NonVoters in 1953! Of those, who had 1945 been not eligible to vote (Nazis, refugees, imprisoned soldiers), 31% voted for ÖVP and SPÖ each and 24% for the VdU/WdU in 1949.
