The absolute final result isn't declared until Thursday I think? Yes, ThursDay evening. The enshrined final final result will be declared in some weeks, normally with no changes for the numbers of the parties, only few hundred invalid votes are included then.

In order to come into parliament, THE GREENS would need 13.000/37.000 (36%) of the votes counted on ThursDay.

By the way: GREENS-PartyLeadress (and DeputyFM in Tyrol) Felipe stepped down after not more than 4 months in office. She would have moved to Vienna after the RegionalElection in Tyrol next spring. Felipe was not unsympathic, but - different to her own opinion - also not quite up for the job.
Mrs.Lunacek will very likely go back to the EU-parliament.
Recycling a well-known face like Mrs.Glawischnigg would be best, I'd say.

But she is pretty - really! -, experienced, professional plus people know her. Mrs. (some say: Mr.) Lunacek announced her retreat as well. Werner Kogler will be InterimLeader.

I like the Vienna Secession-style font there, Sibboleth.

in neighbouring Innsbruck-Land, the OeVP took 50.7% of the vote. Sounds like the world's most disappointing theme park.

I like the Vienna Secession-style font there, Sibboleth. Viennese architect A.LOOS: "Ornament is crime!" (not my opinion)

Not at all bad, but on the basis of that piece I'd say it appears you now have much less time for umlauts!

An amazing&amusing aspect: Austria's FirstLady has worked for the GREENS, what means, that she'll be unemployed...

Few false facts: - ÖVP&FPÖ lasted until 2005 (then ÖVP&BZÖ) - 2002 ÖVP came in as the first, making 2017 the second time since 1966 - 2002 ÖVP increased their % far more (~ +15%) - we cannot be sure, that "Kurz ... wants a coalition with FPÖ" - Pilz is with the GREENS in Salzburg&Tyrol ex aequo, in Vorarlberg clearly behind - the FPÖ isn't "racist" in a strict&scientific sense (=MonoCausalism of race), they do not even refer to race at all (in Germany&A. everyone who says, that there exist races, is condemned as a "racist"), only to "foreign/strange cultures" - parties with a "liberal proEuropean conservatism" haven't done so well in France or Germany and I wouldn't put ANO to this bunch - Pilz might be dangerous more for SPÖ than the GREENS, because he and especially his financier Noll (an actionistic left lawyer) could establish a demagogical leftextreme party (cf. Melenchon); foolish by KPÖ and the GreenYouth, that they didn't cooperate with Pilz (the left behaved extremely idiotically this time)

What possible points of agreement might there be between SPÖ and FPÖ, if it somehow came to that?

What possible points of agreement might there be between SPÖ and FPÖ, if it somehow came to that? Welfare (for Austrian citizens) is a usual point of agreement, and the general, shared anti-clerical streak. Less excitingly, they have a history of quietly helping each other out even whilst the FPOe shouts "Proporz!" all round.

There's also a red-blue coalition at the Land level currently in Burgenland, although the dynamics there are somewhat different from those that would be involved in a federal government of the same colours.
Whilst it might be fun to throw around 'Proporz' as way to mock the near-permanent SPÖVP national coalition, it's worth remembering that the phrase refers to a system at the state level which was actually designed to break the two-party monopoly on power rather than facilitate it.

All votes are cast except those in Vienna's 7 ElectoralUnits. For crossing the 4% the GREENS would need 69% there...

Question for Georg Ebner- what are the three districts in Vienna with massive OeVP votes compared to the rest of the city, and what explains them given Vienna's generally lefty focus? Looks like Innere Stadt, Doebling and Hietzing but I'm not familiar with the latter two.
