An hour on foot? In the car? On a bus or train? By hovercraft?? I think hovercraft may be the best way to measure it given its ability to go as the crow flies so to speak. your hovercraft is full of crows?

I wonder how many people give a chough about them? Now I don't want to be cygnical, but certainly not more than about the birder movement I suspect.

More interesting odds might be on weather Labour get more or less than 50% of the vote.
The last time Labour didn't was in the 1967 by election, when they got 46% to the Conservatives 44.5%.

72% turnout in a by-election seems extraordinary now Turnout was 77.5% at the Mid Staffs by-election in March 1990, (which was the first by-election I took any notice of).

Mid-Staffs was the first time I ever campaigned for a Labour Party candidate.
