It looks like 19 by-elections for 20 seats during February
* 3 on 2nd February * 5 on 9th February * 6 on 16th, including a "double" seat election * 1 on 17th (Friday) * 1 on 21st (Tuesday) * 3 on 23rd
13 of the contests for 14 seats are in District Councils - 11 having all out elections in 2015, 4 single member wards, 4 two member and 3 three member - 2 with "annual" elections, 1 where the last election was in 2015 and 1 in 2016 4 are in Metropolitan Boroughs where the last election was in 2016 2 are for Unitary Authorities, 1 with the last election in 2015 and 1 in 2016
Conservatives are defending 9 seats, 8 arising from the resignation of the former councillor, 1 a disqualification for non attendance Labour is defending 4 seats, 3 after a resignation and 1 a disqualification for non attendance Liberal Democrats are defending 3 seats, including the "double" election, all following resignations UKIP is defending 2 seats, both after a resignation Ratepayers defend 1 seat, after a disqualification for non attendance Independents defend 1 seat after a resignation
With all nominations now declared: Conservatives are contesting all 20 seats, Labour 17, Liberal Democrats 16 with Green and UKIP 13 each - there are 3 Independents contesting one of the seats, 2 Residents the "double" election along with a Fylde Ratepayer and Bolliongton First, a total of 86 candidates. Predictions on this thread by 9.00 am on day of election.
As there are 2 candidates representing each of the 6 parties / groups at the Uttlesford, Elsenham & Henham "double" election, predictions should be based on the total vote for each party / group accompanied by a prediction of how the two seats will be represented after the election.

Dinnington is going to be a graveyard for most of us I think. This is virtually impossible to get a proper hold on.

I predicted a LD gain in Brinsworth. I think Hempie went for a Labour hold.
