jrm has a 1964 times guide - I doubt the three scallys do True, they look more like F W S Craig types to me.... Surely it is obligatory, to even be considered for membership of this august club called a "Forum", that one has the 1964 Times Guide and the relevant FWS Craig volume and has made full note of any discrepancy between them and has noted any relevant train timetables (mostly on closing-down routes, if it's 1964) I say, the Hon. J.W. Rees-Mogg, not having any valid cross-references and merely winging it by the Times Guide, is too flippant and modern for the club's Forum's tastes. Black ball him.

Winging it is standard practice on these premises though.

Was the Labour candidate a die in the ditch Remainder, or was she an Accepter?

Probably already posted but this is Cat Smith describing the Copeland result as an "incredible achievement": twitter.com/chrisshipitv/status/835147850929537024 She'll describe Manchester Gorton as a marginal. She could yet be right?

She'll describe Manchester Gorton as a marginal. She could yet be right? I eagerly await her describing it as an incredible achievement when she goes down in flames in her own seat.

You know he pushed Labour to within 2,000 votes in Enfield Southgate!

District of Columbia Democrats emphatically defeated Reagan-Bush in 1984

If people aren't going to vote Labour because Labour "isn't going to win", that becomes rather self perpetuating doesn't it?

Of course it is. The point is that we should be trying to get that process to act in reverse, as worked rather successfully in 1994-2001.

And it's not something which benefits politics because it means people are encouraged to vote against the party they dislike most rather than for the one they agree with. I will never do that again should Labour return to the centre but I can guarantee the tactics of 'you'll let the Tories in' will be used.

Surely a fine is inadequate for such a heinous act?
