I have been thinking about how best to watch events unfold on Tuesday night. I would want to see unbiased coverage of both the Presidential Election and the Congressional Elections that is accurate with its calls, something which is complicated by the fact I only have Freeview, so do not have access to CNN (or Faux).
The first US Election I stayed up to watch was 2008. I watched it on the BBC which provided decent coverage. Four years later however, they were awful; ignoring Congress, not properly analyising returns by county and indeed missing state calls when other networks made them.
NBC will be broadcasting their results programme on YouTube, so I will go with them, but if that fails, I may go with ITN or Sky. The BBC have disappointed with their election nights recently, and the combination of Andrew Neil and Katty Kay doesn't give me a great feeling.
How will you get the results?

I'm not currently sure how I'm watching. I'm going to a students watch party at a students flat so I'm doubtful they have all the channels or possibly even a tv 😁 If they have all channels I'd recommend MSNBC, CNN or NBC. If only internet/basic tv package then either BBC News or NBC on YouTube. Ultimately though the more in depth and up-to-date date analysis will come from here and Twitter. Btw, Katty Kay is pretty good, at least on MSNBC. No comment on Andrew Neil

Well I'm not going to stay up all night, but I'll probably watch it on BBC before I go to bed.
I want Jeremy Vine to show me how everyone's voted using his magic screen.

Depends where I am. Have voted Sky News but it'll definitely be some combination of the options in the poll no matter what. Analysis down to county level and details of key Senate and gubernatorial races are a must. Asking for live reporting of Maine Initiative Question 5 is probably a bit too much, however.

Freeview at home so probably BBC TV or Radio depending on where I am and what time it is. But obviously I will be on line here to get the benefit of Richard Allen's punditry (and ok I'll admit it I really really want to se how @pjones reacts if it - as I sincerely hope and expect - doesn't quite go his way)

Given the numerous elections happening at the same time and the different results coming in (POTUS, Senate, House, Governors etc), I find monitoring two of three different websites and forgetting the tv coverage the best way to follow a US election. CNN is usually my favorite site for results, though I've been impressed by the New York Times reporting of the primary results this year.

Ignoring it, for the first time since I was a child. I can't get excited as either of the main candidates winning would be awful.
If Gary Johnson looks like pulling off a shock victory, could someone wake me?

I'll be at a bar with various NZ Labour hacks, so presumably 'whichever US network the landlord has paid for'.

I'll be in rural Scania watching it with a good mate of mine fueled by decent Pompey ale I've brought with me.
No idea what network we'll be seeing it on but will be getting numbers on line as things come in.

If Gary Johnson looks like pulling off a shock victory, could someone wake me? There is about as much chance of the manager of Cheltenham Town becoming the US President as the former Governor of New Mexico.

I usually watch CNN with some switching to the BBC (and a soupcon of ITV). One of the media websites is very good for the updated county-by-county tallies in the swing states - CNN? MSNBC? Reuters? I can't remember, but I'm sure there are others too. After the events of 2000 the TV stations are quite circumspect about calling close states (and the BBC prefers talking heads to information) so it's nice to be able to dig into the data.

Probably a combination of here and whichever TV station gives the best coverage - any suggestions?
