I'm inclined to get up at about 4am; about two hours before I normally get up to get ready for work. Switch my laptop on and sign in here, as well as flick through some channels. Hopefully my time won't be taken up too much by declining new account registrations from a certain country in the southern hemisphere.

Evidently I have a thing called Bloomberg TV which may be worth sampling so at least there is some American angle. I'm encouraged that the BBC coverage is being anchored by Andrew Neil (assuming he doesn't pull any stunts involving celebrities on a boat)

I have just gone past Warrington Bank Quay on a train to London Euston from Glasgow. I will probably have had enough to drink by the time I get to my hotel and start to watch the results come in. Virgin Trains are usually generous with the wine and food.
First Class was a real bargain at £36.30.
It will be tea later o, at least if I want to stay awake.

I don;t have CNN or anythning like that so it will be BBC or SKy.. probably flick between the two as Sky will irritate me with all the ad breaks and the BBC will just irritate me full stop. I shall probably be online and following events on here too. And they're off to an early start with the moronic Emily Maitless referring to Kentucky as being in the deep south

Last time Georgia for one threw her.

She's a nightmare - I won't be able to bear her for long CNN is crammed full of adverts but I don't know why you're still watching BBC - though I just turned on Sky and it had adverts as well.

Well, sticking to my word, I think I'll wait until after I get up in the morning to find out who won. If it's Trump I'll probably be able to tell immediately when I see the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse riding about outside of my bedroom window.

We'll all be dead by then after he launches the nukes in celebration.

One of my FB friends - an American who lived for many years in Finland - is currently watching the BBC feed in an Athens hotel room, and is very complimentary about the BBC compared to all the American networks.

I have no TV here and a "light usage" internet connection, so am following things on R4 and World Service, plus a couple of websites.

Have to say I'm impressed with John King on CNN. Great number crunching.

I did flip back to the BBC now and again - A Neil knows his onions, obviously - but it mostly seemed to be a row of people in chairs and too much E Maitlis.
John King is the master, although there was perhaps too much of the showman about his performance last night (no doubt encouraged in his earpiece by his producer) when he was looking for ways for Trump or (mainly) Clinton to fight their way back in states where they were behind. The 2012-2016 county comparisons were more revealing, and UK-style swing calculations based on them would've given us a useful overall picture of how (badly) Clinton was doing. I say this because I'm sure that King must've known very early on (a la Sunderland South) that Trump had won the election, but he kept it to himself.

I don't think anybody could be "sure" of Trump winning before the "rust belt" returns started coming in, tbh.
They were notably worse for Clinton than not just the poll predictions, but even how Democrats on the ground thought they would do.
