The Lib Dems will be getting lots of tactical votes from Labour supporters, it's doubtful many of the remainder would have voted Lib Dem even if there was no Labour candidate.

There's some good news for Goldsmith there though Not quite the boost that having Eddie Izzard campaigning against you would give, but not far off

I'm sure there's some sort of horse racing metaphor in there, can't remember it. Can Labour win there?

is this polling, data or modelling? All three terms are used in the quote, and if it's the first Olney could win, the second the Goldsmith will comfortably get back and if it's the third then Goldsmith's romping home.

I'm all for Brexit, but the good people of Richmond have voted 70% in favour of Remain. It's their good right and sensible (from their pov) to elect an MP opposing Brexit.
What I'd fail to understand, however, would be how people in overwhelmingly Leave constituencies could still vote for Remain MPs.

The answer is obviously that many/most people have other criteria that helps determine who they vote for.

Lib Dems claim to have tellers at every polling station in the constituency. That must be about 50-ish.

Because the EU isn't something upon which most voters, even now, will decide their next vote. I think many people are getting really rather bored with the issue
