Welcome! You're not the only ex-LibDem Green here, so I shouldn't worry about that. There's always controversy when elected representatives defect, and certain types of defections may be hard to understand on ideological grounds, but neither apply in your case.

Had a feeling I wasn't the only one, haha. Some of those defections are hard to fathom, but people do things for different reasons. If I'm ever elected, I'll be wary of it!

Welcome.
We've got a fair few Greens here now according to the Members list - 14 of them! That's enough for a darn good night out I'd imagine.
(Albeit on organic cider obvz)

Hi all. My name is Steve. I actually joined about a week ago but have just noticed this thread. I'm in my late 40s, born and lived mostly in and around the Manchester conurbation (though I have lived in London, Essex, Wales and Blackpool too!) I have no affiliation with any party and have certainly never been a member of a party, but I have always been interested in politics as a psephological entity! (I used to have lots of charts and graphs of Greater Manchester elections dating back to 1983 but they disappeared one day to my despair!!). I do however have political opinions of course, as everyone does, so if you had to pigeonhole me I would say I was left of centre. I have voted Labour, Lib/LD/SDP etc and Green in the past. I am sort of a Social Democrat on economic issues, and quite Libertarian on social ones. I am also a public sector employee and naturally have hostile feelings to the Tory party, as they seem to always beat us with a stick whenever they feel the need to beat someone! Also I am NOT particularly IT-skilled but would like to be able to do more, so I may ask for advice on certain IT issues on here, and I hope you will have patience and help me out when I ask something. THanks

Welcome. It's nice to read posts which don't automatically have a partisan axe to grind. You also admit that you have opinions which we have been known to have people think that of course they were above that and then gave them out anyway. So join in as seems easiest to you.

Thanks for the welcome erlend. Yes I have my opinions and happy to share them, but like you say, I have no axe to grind. Everyone's opinion is equally valid in my opinion

I currently come under Worsley & Eccles South. So you were Trafford MBC - the tory enclave LOL
Why do you have a pic of Harold Wilson as your avatar if you are a Tory...just curious!

Ah, just across the water. The snap is a joke between me and a former poster here- it's to do with Wilson's alleged obsession with Wincarnis meat wine.

He is becoming moustachioed over the month of November from a standing start and presumably will be posting pictures of the growth throughout the month.
