mainly because the title was actually 'why isn't there and introductions thread' which might not be intuitive to new members

Hello! John Loony here. Just to let you all know that my computer suddenly became seriously ill a few days ago and now it has died completely. I managed to save all the important documents and pictures before it died. Anyway, I won't be able to get on the internet for a while regularly - it may be several days before it gets sorted out - so don't panic if I'm not around or whatever. I am now in an internet cafe for 1 hour, and - as you probably know - I don't have any sort of mobile phone for doing internet or twitter or whatever. So if i need to be contacted urgently, use phone or snailmail

I take it the WAAAAGH and the Death List survived? Would be ironic if the Death List died a death. You should get a phone with internet access.

WAAAAGH and the Death List are both fully archived on paper (and have been since long before I had access to the internert). Any manifestation of them on the internet is a by-product.

This is my first post, so I suppose someone ought to introduce themself on this thread. You may remember me from the old forum which was hacked back in the spring, or have seen me posting on UK Polling Report or YouTube. I held off from joining this forum when it was created because I was hoping there was a chance the old one could be recovered.
I'm in my thirties now and have been a Conservative supporter since I was 14. I'm not a politician or even an activist. Just a voter, but someone who enjoys following elections closely.
May I ask, how do I go about making my username blue?

Kris will change your affiliation if you PM him

Thank you. Yes, I reside in Shipley and work in Bradford. My username is dedicated to the long gone Swan Arcade, which was once the workplace of JB Priestley, who you could call the original Swanarcadian. Not that my politics are close to his by any means. I just deplore the way our cities have become filled up with ugly concrete and glass buildings.

Swan Arcade had gone before I made it up here, though I do recall a band of the same name on John Peel in the 70s who had a song called 'the battle of Sowerby Bridge'

After lurking for a few weeks, I've managed to hack my way through the undergrowth to rejoin you all again. Good to see so many familiar names.
I will try not to wind people up too much.

How would you rate your party's chances at the next federal election?
