[glow=red,2,300]we need a link to help us find it please. [/glow] Monarchy or Republic? Union or League? If you click on the image in my signature it will take you to my site. I am a republican no offence to old Liz but we should stand on our own 2 feet now. I like league mainly but will watch the Wallabies play when they do. The league team I follow is Parramatta and have been for the last 40 odd years.

Hi all I am Little Devil LD for short. I am from a Land Down Under called Australia and live in a little town half way between Sydney and Melbourne. I am a labor follower in Australia so don't hold that against me. I have my own Australia political site you are all welcome to come over and have a look. Anything else you want to know about me or Australia just ask Good day and welcome. The administrator might be able to display your party allegiance as Australian Labor Party. How would you rate your party's chances at the next federal election? The opinion polls are all over the place. Last week one poll had both parties at 50% each on a two-party preferred basis. Then yesterday another one had the Coalition (Liberal National Parties) ahead 53 per cent to 47 per cent on a two-party preferred basis and that labor would lose up to 20 seats. The only poll I worry about is the one on election day where everyone has a say not about 1,000 people

I am pleased to have found this forum (with a little help from Bill Lomax of Stoke-on-Trent) as the replacement for the previous forum with mysteriously died on 29 February earlier this year. I continue to be politcally unaligned and hope that I can bring a non-partisan view to everyone's discussions in a way that I hopefully did in the past.

Welcome. It took me a while to get myself onto this forum, when I finally accepted we weren't going to get the old one back.

To be absolutely pedantic, the old place "died" on the morning of 1 March. And it wasn't really "mysterious" - rather a wanton, pointless act of vandalism from a hacker

Yes, the 300th member - well done on finally finding your way here. Glad you followed my suggestion, as indeed, the old one is probably not coming back.

I don't think there is any "probably" about it, tbh.

Given we now have nine months worth, and growing, of discussion stored on this site, it would seem pretty impractical to go back to the old site now. Would still be nice to have it back in some sort of archive form if Iain could ever do that though. So much information lost on that old site. Speaking of which, I really need to look into potential ways to make backups of all our work here some time...

When people register, I check their usernames, emails addresses and IP addresses against the database on StopForumSpam.com in order to reduce the amount of spam that gets through here. Martinway was blacklisted as a spammer.

Well, I'm Kristofer. I'm 23, and I live in Hamilton although I'm moving to Rothesay some time this year (now pencilled in for April). I'm a PPE student with the Open University, I work part time in a popular chain bakery store, and I also run an online election results empire. I'm single and not really looking. At present, I have nothing to do with my party largely due to lack of time and not wanting to screw up another degree. That any good?

I'm 55 & run my own antiques & collectables business. After 20 odd years as an advice worker, including setting up an advice centre from scratch. Started out as a chippie until an industrial injury. Married, 4 kids between us from various marriages None of them living at home. At the moment. There were 2 weeks ago. No doubt there will be again. Deputy Labour group leader on B&NES, which is less impressve (if it ever was...) when you look at the numbers. Finance/personnel chair on my parish, which is a lot more fun (& productive) than the Unitary. Parish was only created 2 years ago, from the disaggregation of a larger council, so inherited £180K income & no clerk or budget plan. Now a quality council !!! (smug mode). Member of the Labour Paty since 1977. Cricket (missing this years IPL sadly), real ale & cider, quizzes, games, cooking, travelling (as much as budget will allow). Specialist skill: eating bacon sarnie while fending off cat.

Doktorb. My real name, political leanings and real life learnings are well known. I live in Preston, Northern England's youngest city. I've been a member of the Liberal Democrats since April 2000, with two gaps.
Six electoral divisions of.Lancashire County Council are named from my suggestions. I enjoy political geekery. I dislike first past the post, socialism and brioche. My preferred sources of news are communist sell outs and Twitter. Chris Huhne got my first preference at the most recent leadership election.
Real ale, non league football and Eurovision makes my world go round. My relationship with Northern Rail is tetchy.
Kerry McArthur MP called me "snide".
