"Cyber Yobs" sounds like a 1996-era drama on CBBC that perhaps gets two days of coverage in the Daily Mail for having a character say "damn" or "bloody". Hahahahaha knock off MI High on CITV perhaps.

Back when people talked about 'the information superhighway.' I actually managed to squeeze multimedia laptop into conversation a few weeks ago when I bought an external CD drive. I don't think I've heard anyone say that in maybe twenty years.

Forum poster @johnyorks seems to have deleted their account, don't think there was any indication of that in advance.

My name is doktorb. It has been, and currently is, and across the shapeless geometry of the internet, will always be. I've been here before. I've gone away, through full moods, and dark moments, and angry stupid silly strops. Here's some short, sharp, honest facts. Big thanks to Neil/Bondsman/ AdminSTB. They agreed to have me back, with some conditions. I requested that some parts of the forum were locked, so I couldn't participate. Request accepted. This has helped. I lurk and see content which would, back in the old days, have sent me into keyboard burning rages. Not any more. Some users knew (and know!) how to trigger my weaknesses. And my faults. And my problems. A number of them were blocked on day one of my return. They don't need to know who they are, and I won't say, and the forum doesn't need to be invited into the drama about whom, and for what reasons. We have freedom to, and we have freedom from. And that's that. Of course I'm human. Not AI. Not a bot. Not a performing monkey. So I'll sometimes have sparks, and shade, and terse turns of phrase. But not like before. I have exhausted that part of me. It's tired, and it's played out, and whilst I may visit, I don't want to stay. I'm on 100mg Sertraline a day. This helps. Much more happiness. Much less obsession with proving people write on the Internet. Much more vibes-based living. Much less hatred, much less heat. Combine these three things: restricted access, blocked accounts, medication. They mean, put together, someone who is choosing to just be here, rather than participate. Someone who will express views, here and now, now and then, whilst also knowing their limits. Absolute limits. Total limits. I see, through lurking, that my user name doktorb, and my real name L----P---------- is sometimes used by posters. Please try and reduce this, or stop completely. I can't reply or respond or refute, though I can screenshot and compile evidence, if the need arises. I can't react to your attempts at waving a red flag at a bull, because your red flag is behind a wall, and the medicine means I'm less of a bull than I've ever been. The flags in my user name are perhaps the most demonstrative I can get, under my restricted circumstances. I have my opinions, and my experiences, and my truth. They are mine. And they are what they are. I can't put myself in the LGBT thread, by my own request. I can see what is said, what is defended, what is attacked, and I know I'm safer behind the wall I've asked to be constructed. I do love this forum. I do love being supported. I also know that my limits are what they are, and your limits are what they are. I know it's rude to keep talking. And with that. I stop.

I seem to read it both ways. It's actually a mistake. Back in the very very very early days of dial up Internet, I needed a name for MSN etc. As a Simpsons fan I chose Doktorb, from Dr. Nick's "1-800-Doctorb, the b stands for bargain". I made the mistake of using 'k', not 'c'. That mistake just stuck. So it's been Doktorb, as two syllables, and a misspelling going back to the early 2000s.

There's this Eighties gem of French cultural appropriation with a man in excessively shiny pants repeatedly saying "don't forget me, I'm Doctor B"

I've never heard or seen that before, but I've just had a PTSD-lite flashback to Joanna's in Southsea, in the early 80s. Basically an entire night's clubbing in one song.

You can now see why it was the French who came up with the Lambada. (I think cultural appropriation is a daft concept, but the story of the Lambada is an incredible story of brass neck, theft and Being French)

Someone who came to advertise their free psephological tool. It was mildly criticised and they didn't like it. Unfortunately, the tool is no longer available for download due to "offensive remarks made on the Vote UK Forum" by "cyber yobs" grarls.org/Pebble/index.htmlHenceforth, I'd like to think of myself as a "cyber yob". I get the feeling a few on this forum may agree😉

I have the misfortune of knowing virtually every MP’s name off by heart much to the amazement of my mother and the bewilderment of my fatherThat was me, once Welcome aboard.

I have the misfortune of knowing virtually every MP’s name off by heart much to the amazement of my mother and the bewilderment of my fatherThat was me, once Welcome aboard. At the same age, so could I. I watched the proceedings live in the HOC and took extracts of Hansard and compiled and shared records. I have done none of those things for decades, and doubt I could now name and place more than 20% of MPs, if that?
