There is a PBFA dealer specialising in Socialism but the photo offered on their homepage does not inspire great confidence. www.leftontheshelfbooks.co.uk/ I agree that the photo doesn't give a great impression but Left on the shelf are no better and no worse than most as far as customer service goes. Obvious bias in their material of course and not the cheapest, but certainly not a disaster. There's a place in York called Empire books who sell a lot of old parliamentary bills and the like. I can only suppose the photo is intended to appeal to Corbynistas. As they are a PBFA member I would personally be happy to deal with them but for 'valuable and significant' material would look a little wider for a potential purchaser whilst keeping them fully in mind. Edit: I've just found that the owner has recently written the 'Bibliography of the Communist Party of Great Britain' a book rather outside my price range but one I would nevertheless like to own. That makes me rather more confident in them. If only they changed that photo...

Quite. It's exactly how you might expect a left wing bookshop to look. Absolutely. I don't think it would be the place to go with anything over and above the ordinary political material (having said this their top priced item is £900!)

I recall oldwarhorse mentioning that the general election results for the two Stockton constituencies were counted by ward and added up, and that she had the ward by ward voting figures to hand. Are there any other constituencies we know of where the official voting by ward data is available?

Are there any other constituencies we know of where the official voting by ward data is available? I think they do that in Birmingham. NB Stockton, not Stockport!

What is the lowest number of votes won by any member of this forum in a local election? My own 77 votes in Romsey ward in Cambridge was fairly spectacular but I'm sure johnloony has beaten that - IIRC perhaps as few as 9 votes in a Bensham Manor by-election ? Please submit your bids..

I got 16 votes once standing for the City of London Corporation as an independent affiliated with the City Reform Group. To put that into context though, that was with an electorate of about 400 and turnout of less than 30%.

The fewest I ever got was 6 in Fieldway ward in 2005.

I've seen this on a few election results tables, where some wards weren't even assigned a name, or otherwise just given a bland name such as "Aled Rural" or "Abergele Rural" (which I've seen for a couple of old Welsh authorities).

My worst performance in an election was when I got 891 votes, and finished at the head of the poll.
Eight years before that I had got 912 votes and lost.
