While I was crunching some of my numbers I found that a way of speeding up the calculations is as follows; Firstly get the results from Andrew Teales site Starting with the seat made of the fewest wards copy and paste the results table into an Excel spreadsheet Then simply re order the vote totals in rows by party (so put all IND candidates votes in a row, all the Labour candidates votes in a row etc) And finally AUTO-SUM (FORMULAS BUTTON) for each row, aligning the answers in a column and you have the total votes for each party in the seat. Then AUTO-SUM (FORMULAS BUTTON) the column with total votes per party to get the total number of votes for the seat Then just divide all the total party votes by total number of votes to get the vote percentage for each party Using this formula it takes me approximately 1 minute per ward + 2 minutes at the end for total figures I hope this will speed things up for you! No I don't think that would be quicker than what I do and in any case the next set of results I need to do for Wales is those for 2004 for which Andrew Teale hasn't provided a download. The efficiency of my processes is not the issue - I just have quite a few other fish to fry at the moment, both psephological (eg. The boundary review) and 'real life'

This post has been reported for breaching the conditions I set out for your continued use of this forum (ie. being impatient and pushing for more). Now, considering this is a personal welcome back present from the last time you were banned, and I'm in a generous mood, I'm going to pretend you didn't ask that question and assume it's some sort of antipodean custom of which I'm unaware not to show gratitude. You've got off lightly with this one - just think before you press "create post".

So, when do we get the rest of them? If and when other people choose to provide them. They are under no obligation to do so within a particular timescale, or indeed ever. You need to learn to be patient. If you expect everybody else to be as enthusiastic as you, you will be disappointed. If you are bore or impatient waiting, go and play with planes or read a book or whatever else. This forum is not the only thing in your life.
