She will, however, be all over the media being, as you say, an 'attack dog' for Hillary Clinton. Why wouldn't it help Trump to have the credibility of Clinton's various 'attack dogs' undermined? You obviously don't understand the purpose of an attack dog.

Very effective attacks from Trump. Hillary is not going to be able to withstand six months of this. Clinton is going to lose badly. Of course she can withstand it. She is laughing her head off every time Trump goes off on such nonsensical rants. Outside of his base this messaging goes down like a cup of could sick.

I think Trump has found his match in doling out sick burns on twitter.

Goofy is quite lame and not something that will hurt Warren. Lyin' Ted and Little Marco were effective because they associated to real weaknesses/flaws. Trump also needs to start appearing presidential if he wants to attract voters outside his base, so the insult game needs to stop. Its counterproductive at this point. But you seem to have decided everything Trump does is somehow brilliant. It isn't.

He's not trying to shut her up, he's trying to wreck her credibility. She will be regularly going on news media attacking Trump. These attacks could result in a negative impression of Trump being given to people watching them. In order to prevent that Trump has to undermine her credibility. So he comes up with a nickname 'goofy' and with a snappy line of attack on her i.e. 'fake Indian'. He repeats these endlessly until they get stuck in people's minds. Other people also start repeating these lines, frequently they are repeating them to mock their apparent childishness. It doesn't matter why these attacks get repeated, the important point is that they get stuck in people's minds. Then when she appears on TV or in the media these lines will pop up in people's heads. Even if the viewers don't consciously accept Trump's descriptions of Warren they will work on the subconscious parts of their minds and cause those viewers to disregard what she is saying. This technique was used to great effect by Trump to demolish his competitors in the Republican Primary. Why wouldn't it work against warren and Clinton? Because Trump's favourability with GOP voters was higher than that of his GOP rivals. Warren, and to a lesser extent Clinton, are viewed more favourably by the electorate than Trump is. Calling Warren "Goofy" and rehashing the non-story about Indian ancestry does nothing to undermine her credibility. As @odo correctly states such attacks are only effective when they attack a perceived weakness. Trump is damaging himself far more by re-enforcing his own perceived weakness that he is unfit to hold high office.

As @odo correctly states such attacks are only effective when they attack a perceived weakness. Trump is damaging himself far more by re-enforcing his own perceived weakness that he is unfit to hold high office. Did people perceive Jeb Bush as 'low energy' until Trump started endlessly repeating it? What makes the attacks effective is that they are snappy and have a certain physicality about them, so that they pop into people's heads whenever they see the target. For the attacks to get stuck in people's head they don't have to view the person delivering the attack favourably, they just have to listen to what he is saying. Trump is the Republican nominee for the most powerful political office in the world. Even people who don't like him will listen to what he says. Well, yes - as he clearly looked all the way through like a man who had been pushed onto the stage unwillingly and was itching to get off it again.

Question to people here. When you just saw that picture of Hillary did you think "Gosh, Hillary's looking a bit old and frail these days"? No.

Question to people here. When you just saw that picture of Hillary did you think "Gosh, Hillary's looking a bit old and frail these days"? Could that thought have been encouraged by the idea of her having 'no stamina' and always being 'exhausted' being put in your head by earlier posts in this thread? No, that's one of her better photos. Much easier to go after her constant coughing, occasional loss of voice and her 'witchy' laugh. However, attacking people for appearance/age won't help Trump much considering his age and hair.

As for her constant coughing and loss of voice well or course she does that. She's obviously not really in the best of healthAnd ... ?

And that's one of Trump's big lines of attack on her, no strength, no stamina, not up to the job etc You seriously think that Trump can convince average voters that Hillary Clinton is "not up to the job"? It's an attack that could stick with Trump - who's a businessman of questionable competence, with no experience of any aspect of government. But not one that could stick against a former First Lady, former Senator, and former Secretary of State.

In other words "no-one likes us and we don't care"? A good strategy to mobilise your base in order to win a plurality during the primary. A surefire loser of a strategy to win a majority at the general election.

A good strategy to mobilise your base in order to win a plurality during the primary. A surefire loser of a strategy to win a majority at the general election. You have just spent months talking about a candidate who had never run for public office before, who was opposed by the entire party establishment, who had a terrible ground game, who spent little (and in many states nothing) on paid advertising, whose campaign literally did not commission a single private poll, and who was consistently offending large parts of his own party. You argued over months that that candidate, Donald Trump could not possibly win the Republican Primary. Then when he did win you said the Republican establishment and his opponents can't have been really trying to stop him. The fact is that the Republican establishment and 16 other candidates did their very best to defeat Trump and Trump, operating on a relative shoestring, flattened them all. He's going to flatten the Democratic Party in the general election as well. I have already conceded that I completely underestimated the stupidity, incompetence and spinelessness of the GOP in stopping a hostile takeover of their party. The Democrats will not make the same mistakes. They will spend 10 times what the GOP did in attacking Trump and they will be appealing to a more receptive audience. The simple point that you have failed to grasp is the voters that Trump needs to win a general election are very different to the voters he needed to win the primary. He is heading for a humiliating defeat, which I welcome, but unfortunately he threatens to take the entire US conservative movement down with him.

The hypnotic persuasion techniques that he used to win over the Republican primary electorate will work on the general electorate as well. Oh lord - have I stumbled on a David Icke Forum by mistake?

The most delusionary comments emanate from Trump Towers.
He can call them rapists, illegals, and says they should be deported forthwith. But he likes tacos so all is forgiven.
Next up Trump will argue he loves women. He has married three of them after all!
There must be some of the electorate that Trump has not insulted yet!
