Absolutely true on the deportations... (see Pew Foundation numbers).. LibDems are gobsmacked when I bring this up as it doesn't fit the "official version". Latinos were looking for a "break" under Hillary from the brutal Obama regime.. Obama did not do much for African-Americans per se but he did do this as it removed the unrelenting pressure of 30 years of illegal immigration on jobs, wages and conditions in their "part" of the job market i.e. the bottom end. They are probably more gobsmacked to find a UKIP sympathiser in their ranks! Considering I fought for latino rights in the US when I lived there your comments are bizarre... being a Leaver does not make one a UKIP sympathiser.. from what I gather your "leader" is a closet leaver.. does that make him a UKIP sympathiser? |

Good Bye Mr. President and TY - thank you for the best 8 years of my political history; after watching one of the worst 8 years of my political history ...and for the many - many accomplishments that you managed to push/pull through despite the immature stonewalling by the GOP.
And these were just a drop in the bucket from what our country could have accomplished had our GOP been willing to compromise and work for their constituents instead of being decisive and the party of 'NO'! For example; voting down budget increases for veterans/elderly/food stamps/social security cost of living increase/fighting to block the ACA ...but trying to defund the Planned Parenthood with lies & deceitful faked videos - pushing through another deconstructed 'Abortion Bill', 11 times and then shoving a native American land grab bill back into a Defense spending bill so that the copper mining can take over some land in Arizona that Sen. So reading the last few posts in this thread I see that Obama "let Hispanics pour in" while simultaneously being "brutal" in deporting vast numbers of them. Might I suggest that the situation was a little more nuanced than either of these position. I'm finding it quite amusing; the posts range from a inserted blogger quote - some nit-wits tweet account - or even better yet, regurgitated BS that is printed up daily by the Repug's {aka GOP} for lack of factual data and truth they find any 'yellow sheet pseudo journal print' and spread the wealth. And look who they've hooked into their followers ...found a few right around here! 
Oh, and when the brain cells lack for a decent adult rejoinder ...then just hit the members font choice; that's always a real deeply seated mental move! SERIOUSLY!!!

He almost certainly wasn't the first US President to authorise such assassinations. Just the first to do it in the global media age and have it brought to notice. Good point, they might have been even more devious in the past when they could get away with more. But in general it does amuse me the sheer cognitive dissonance that a cool, charming and handsome president gets a pass and there is hardly any anti-war critique or demos. The a guy who doesnt have a political track record wins, hasnt taken power or done anything and he gets this wave of protest. I suppose its nice to have the anti-war back on the agenda, but I am not sure its much use if they are so fairweather and so deliberatly tribal and oblivious to the fact that the pentagon and state department provide lots of continuity on foreign policy. |

As I said in the Syria thread it has been amusing to watch the US desperately trying to take down many of their former terrorist friends in order to cover their tracks before Trump takes over. |
