I've gone for something a bit less radical, but still with a fair bit of boundary crossing (all seats legal, and not too far beyond the realms of possibility). I think a lot of my West Yorkshire seats manage to be pitchfork bait even without crossing the county boundary.

I've had a go at @boogieeck 's challenge. I reckon the maximal number of cross-border constituencies is 38.  I don't think it's possible to get more than this, as if you pair the wards on either side of the regional border to form the cross-border wards, you can only get 38 distinct pairs, with several occasions where there are several wards on one side adjoining a single ward on the other side, so only one pairing possible with all those wards together.  I'd be interested to see any solution that has more than this.

From the pairs I've then created constituencies, choosing some to face more inwards into Yorkshire and others to head outwards.  I've ended up with 30 internal constituencies but that can be more or less to taste.  The biggest difficulty was getting anything to work with those huge wards in Leeds.  I've paid no attention to sensible constituencies either on the border or internally, just about getting the numbers to work with connected constituencies.

And I've ended up with this mess - I think this has 38 cross-border constituencies and everything is within quota:

Move Wythenshawe and Ringway from Manchester City Council to Trafford, then Styal, Wilmslow, Handforth and Alderley Edge from Cheshire East to Trafford again. Rename it the Metropolitan Borough of Wythenshawe and move offices to Wythenshawe Town Centre.
Add Mottram St Andrew and Prestbury for extra fun, if enticed to do so.

I'm surprised it's even possible but I drew a map of Northern Ireland in which it's conceivable that Sinn Fein could win 14 of the 18 constituencies (all of them except North Antrim, East Antrim, Belfast East, and North Down).
