What is the National Distributionist Party?
Their emblem appears to be a greyhound holding a flaming torch in its mouth.
CatholicLeft has a notable distributist as his avatar (Dorothy Day). G K Chesterton was sort of interested too.

I am not sure where to post this - so I thought I would put a brief note here.
New town councils for Barrow(-in-Furness) and Taunton will be elected on 4 May 2023. The community governance review in North Yorkshire, not yet completed, will establish new town councils in Harrogate and Scarborough, which will presumably be elected on 2 May 2024.
Since 2019, 6 two-tier counties and 2 unitary authorities (Bournemouth and Poole) have been converted into 9 unitary authorities and 34 lower tier authorities have been extinguished, resulting in substantially fewer electoral contests than in 2019, or certainly since 2015. [The district council elections due in 2019 in Buckinghamshire, Dorset and Northamptonshire had already been cancelled].
At the same time new town councils have been established in previously unparished areas - Christchurch, Weymouth, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and Northampton.
The only unparished areas remaining in these six counties will be High Wycombe and Carlisle, where the outgoing district councils deferred the decision to the incoming unitary authority - and the community governance review has not yet been resumed.

What on Earth does that mean? "My name is Tyler White and I am the first official leader of the National Distributist Party. I live in Gloucestershire and have lived there all of my life. My plan for the party over the next year is to take the party from an Instagram Political Party, to a ‘boots on the ground’ organisation that talks to the man on the street. If you believe in Britain and Distributism, or simply believe that we need a new conservative party in this country, I implore you to message us directly today and we will provide leaflets and stickers so you can do your part. Within my district, I will be campaigning for policies such as: Only local businesses being open on a Sunday. Cutting foreign aid further. Encouraging a healthy population to curb nationwide obesity. Saying NO to destroying our green belts. Dropping/reducing beer tax for real ale manufacturers and pubs."

Sherborne Town Council West Ward (2 seats) Richard Crabb Lib Dem 453 Chris Kippax Lib Dem 370 Taff Martin Independent 268 Turnout 17.5% This unremarkable town council byelection has landed the local community radio station in hot water with OFCOM. Seems that Taff Martin, the Independent candidate, is the regular presenter of the 'Real Country Music Show' and stayed on air during the election period. He didn't draw attention to his candidacy on the radio or do anything political, but the rules are strict and they've just been hit with a breach: www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0021/255621/March-2023-Standards-Decision-The-Real-Country-Music-Show.pdf

There will be another by-election to Chorleywood Parish Council, this one following the resignation of Di Barber (C), a Cedars ward representative. Three Rivers DC have included the vacancy in their Notice of Election for the other (all-out) Parish Council elections in the district due on 4 May. (It will be remembered that Chorleywood elects its parish council on a different cycle to the majority of parish councils.)

Salisbury will hold a parish poll on April 20th, the question is: "Do you support a 5% cap on future increases to the Salisbury City Council precept and a parish consultation if any proposed increase is larger than 5%?"

I hope that all the parties will contest this ward as well as the Rickmansworth Town ward on Batchworth parish council and the Rickmansworth Town district ward, then we can a definitive guide to how the votes are distributed within the latter (I'm not bothered about the Greens standing, as presumably they won't following their meltdown, but Con/LD/Lab would be good)

A year ago, at the all-outs, there was only one candidate (Ms. Barber) for the two seats!
