It was Martin Wilkins, who was the third of the Lib Dems elected in 2021 who resigned.

I regret to report that Gregory Ebbs (Lib Dem) (Whitchurch Town Council, Shropshire) was fired by Lord Sugar after the second exercise.

I think it was the third actually. I thought it was a mistake - he was really entertaining in a LibDem sort of way, but maybe you have to be a LibDem to appreciate it.

He was fired for doing little apart from a few minor suggestions/complaints. Not sure I would have fired him (he was good week 1), Sugar’s 3 firings so far this series seem to be avoiding the people actually to blame for their teams losses, instead targeting people who didn’t adapt to the situations.

Isn't the ability to get someone else blamed for your cock up about 90% of surviving in business though? Bit like politics really!

Carmarthenshire, Llandybie, Llandybie. PC 322, LD 248 Denbighshire, Rhyl, Rhyl Tynewydd. Lab 375, Con 368, Ind 101 Do I take it that the Rhyl election was on the same boundaries as the district one the same day? The different outcome if so is interesting.

There'll naturally be a small amount of churn, but essentially the Conservative, Labour and Independent candidates (it was the same Independent candidate in both contests) will have held most of the votes they won in the CC election and then you have 100 voters for Plaid to redistribute (the handful of Lib Dems aren't worth mentioning). Its not particularly remarkable that they would tend to favour Labour over the Conservatives although they actually appear to have broken fairly evenly. Its the difference between a 7 vote lead for one party in one contest and an 11 vote lead for the other in the other. Essentially neck and neck in both.

There were 3 fewer valid votes in the county election than in the town council one, which is slightly odd, otherwise the differences in votes were: No PLaid (101) or LD (5) compared to the Denbighshire one. Lab +49 Con +31 Ind +29

Okay, when I said interesting I didn't mean that much by it- some of us can get interested in some pretty small beer, as maybe now has been sufficiently demonstrated. I'm always interested when a small but identifiable group of voters come to different conclusions at the margins in this way, and the fact we are dealing with tiny numbers and two very close races makes it a manageable case study- much smaller and it would come dangerously close to being able to identify individual voters.

The vacancy in Chalfont St. Peter (Gold Hill) was caused by the disqualification for non-attendance of a Conservative, one of three who were elected unopposed in 2021.
