A byelection for three seats in Over ward, Winsford Town Council, looks likely because the 2015 election has been declared void on petition. The Returning Officer invited nominations which didn't specify that the people nominating and seconding candidates had to be actually on the electoral register for Over ward. The candidates who won were nominated by people living outside the ward. (In theory the Town Council could fill the vacancy by co-option but a poll is highly likely)

A vacancy has arisen on the (political) parish council of Abbots Langley. Martin Brooks (LD, Leavesden ward) has resigned: observers have noticed that he seems 'out of sorts' with the Three Rivers District Council's Lib Dem group. He continues as a district councillor for the same ward for the time being, however.

Review of Town Council political by-election 24th March 2016
Gainsborough TC, East - West Lindsey DC - Liberal Democrat hold Liberal Democrat 305 (57%), UKIP 226 (43%) 2015: Best assessment is that 5 candidates, most if not all Liberal Democrats, were returned unopposed for the 6 seats - an unsuccessful Independent who contested the North Ward was co-opted on 2nd June 2015 - a vacancy then occurred when following 5 applicants for co-option a decision was deferred on 1st December 2015 until the next meeting the new Councillor with no declared political affiliation signed their Declaration of Interest on 26th January 2016 - a further vacancy has occurred leading to the current election.

There do not appear to be any political contests on 7 April, only 2 non-political contests: Cornwall (Marhamchurch) Durham (Great Lumley)
On 14 April there are political contests in East Devon - Exmouth (Halsdon and Littleham wards)
Then the next parish council elections will be on 5 May.

Interesting Town Council result in Hythe - stomping ground of KCC's Green Councillor:
Landslide win in Hythe by-election
February 29, 2016
Ashley Tanton had a terrific win in the Hythe South by-election. A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped with the campaign. The results were as follows: Green Party 389; Conservative 165; UKIP 84; Labour 47; Independent 10. As such, he gained more votes than all of his opponents put together. The turnout was 30.61%. Ashley now joins Laura Sullivan as our second councillor on Hythe Town Council.
Ashley campaigned on a strong platform of protecting the town’s open spaces, greater council transparency, and greater consideration of residents’ views and concerns in decision-making. He was backed up by a successful track-record of local campaigning, having headed the community efforts to save the historical Triangle site on St Leonard’s Road.
The result reflects the huge progress made by the party in Hythe in the last few years, starting with the election in May 2013 of the first ever Green Party member to Kent County Council, Martin Whybrow.
