The Lib Dem is the Antony Nickolls, supringly Bridgwater is one of the few Towns in Somerset where the Lib Dems just don't perform, who has stood and lost a number of times. His father Adrian Nickolls was a Lib Dem councillor in Bridgwater, back in the days when the Lib Dems could win seats there |

I am intrigued that Bexhill-on-Sea town council has encountered resignations so soon after the election on 4 May and given that the election attracted such little competition.
Rother District is entirely parished. Bexhill-on-Sea town council has 18 members, 2 each elected from 9 wards. 8 of the wards were uncontested on 4 May, only Central ward encountering an election with 3 candidates for the 2 seats. There were no candidates at all in 1 ward and only a single candidate in 3 more wards, leaving a shortfall for co-option. The make-up of the town council after the election was Independent 11, No Description 2, Co-options 5. Not a single candidate professed to be from the Rother Association of Independent councillors.
Now both councillors elected in Sackville ward have resigned and there appears to be hot competition (and maybe different Independent factions?) contesting the two vacancies.
