If they're eligible to vote, then they're clearly too old to be sitting on Santa's knee. Senior Labour figure in ageism shock!

The result of the parish council by-election in Dodderhill (Wychavon) on November 2nd was: HUMPHRIES, Alan 31 TURBERVILLE, Roger Neil 79 Elected What prompted me to look up this result is the current discussion about weird parish boundaries. Dodderhill parish basically consists of the village of Wychbold (notable for the radio masts), and one side of a road in the nearby village of Stoke Prior. You have to leave Dodderhill parish and drive through the village of Stoke Works to reach this road. Edit: link

Nothing on Dec 28th is no surprise (the last council byelection between Christmas and New Year was about 40 years ago) but thought there might be something on Jan 4th.

It's a shame the parish council seems to have got rid of their parish ward map and the descriotion here www.chorleywood-pc.gov.uk/the-council/about-the-parish-council/ is out of date as it describes four wards whereas the list of councillors show them representing five wards. The boundaries of South, Cedars and Quickwood are obvious enough (They are the parts of the parish within the Chorleywood South & Maple Cross, Rickmansowrth Town and Penn & Mill End wards respectively). I would guess East is the area South of Chorleywood Road and East of the M25 with Common & Loudwater being the remainder of the North ward. As an aisde, I notice there is a small part of Loudwater which is unparished but completely surrounded by parished areas (Chorleywood (which includes most of Loudwater), Batchworth, Croxley Green and Sarratt). by rights I think it should be in Batchworth parish (as it was part of Rickmansworth) but there's probably a case for moving it into Chorleywood Edit: I was being stupid. Obviously Chorleywood East is the part of Chorleywood North which is in the Rickmansworth West county division (which is exactly as I described)

You are right, logically it belongs in Chorleywood. (That's also why the western boundary of Batchworth parish is where it is - the ward boundary - rather than the historic boundary between Rickmansworth and Mill End).

There's a good chance mattb will know the answer. Jon Bishop has no overt party affiliation and is very active in the Chorleywood Residents' Association and the umbrella organisation Three Rivers Joint Residents' Association. I don't know anything about the other two. The parish council doesn't seem to operate on party lines in practice (despite the party labels at election).
