Fuck 'em. Kenny stays unless they form a positive government.
But as noted above, half of them are too frit because government involves hard decisions.

It's not just Kenny who would stay by default though. IIRC ministerial appointments also have to be signed off by the Dail - wasn't that the precise issue that stirred the Greens into bringing down Biffo's government? Current ministers stay in place unless they personally resign and the most a Taioseach can seemingly do without Dail approval is to give the vacant portfolios to existing ministers on top of their existing load.

Cap of Powah Junior is in hospital after being attacked by a cow.
Meanwhile parties continue to try to not be in government.

It has been passed over that the Dail met Tuesday last. Not to conduct any real business, oh no, certainly not to elect a Taoiseach - just for SF and others really to sound off that 'The next government must do this' and 'do that' as a matter of priority. The next government will not of course include SF or those others to do anything about anything. Nor will it include anyone who can help it. The examples of PASOK, New Democracy, the PP and PSOE (and Irish Labour for that matter) are too close to the eyes.
Meanwhile the rumours go about that Kenny wants the crushed-by-cow TD as Minister for The Other 25 Counties. God.

Looks distinctly like Ireland is heading for a second 2016 election. Micheál Martin has said he will not form a coalition with Fine Gael, and that Enda Kenny has said Fine Gael won't form a minority government.

Cobble together a budget; get it passed and then start again I would imagine?

After a lot of shadow boxing, direct FG-FF talks started, and are now apparently coming close to an agreement.

Apparently Joan Burton is resigning as Labour leader; the likely contenders to replace her are Sean Sherlock and Alan Kelly. His campaign slogan should be "No Shit Sherlock"

This may offer an opportunity for a more coherent and focused opposition....
On the other hand...
