And the previous liberal democrats probably pleased your lot about as much as Labour and the Greens please their British counterparts here.
(P.S. Brian Crowley doesn't excite many if any Conservatives.)

Ireland needs a Lib Dems to take the next bullet. You lot might be good for precious little else, but you take a great bullet.

Does anybody want to be in government?! It sounds like when a couple of my friends got divorced and both of them wanted the other one to have the children.

Dublin South West has recounted and the result is unchanged - Katherine Zappone (Ind) takes the final seat over Anne-Marie Dermody (FG).

Are FF still planning to stand in the North in future?

They keep saying that but last time they did was in the 1930s. Suspect they will have to be properly popular again in the 26 counties before they rediscover the desire to stand in the north.
Meanwhile Kevin 'Boxer' Moran (Independent Alliance) has been elected in Longford-Westmeath, but there is likely to be a recount request. The Labour candidate is up for elimination but is only 19 votes behind.

Ireland needs a Lib Dems to take the next bullet. Why? I don't see how Ireland has actually benefited from just about every third party that comes halfway close to a breakthrough being destroyed via coalition.

That would be long-serving Labour TD Willie Penrose, David. Another sitting TD in Longford-Westmeath, James Bannon (Fine Gael), is also likely to lose his seat at this point.

(CORRECTED)
Latest news is that that request for a recount was turned down, but the distribution of Moran's relatively small surplus has unexpectedly reversed the gap between Penrose and Bannon - Penrose reportedly ahead by 2 votes. FG have requested a recount and it has been granted.

Dublin Bay North has finished and Labour have lost their seat there. Unless they get unusually favourably transfers in Longford-Westmeath then they will be 1 short of the numbers for full party speaking rights in the Dail - and currently only one "Technical Group" is allowed.
There's a lot of talk about and demand for reform of the way the Dail is run and four parties below the numbers (five if you count the Independent Alliance) so perhaps the threshold will be revisited?

Three seats left to declare in the Dail as of now-the last seat in Dublin South-Central and the last two in Longford-Westmeath respectively.
Current status of parties (change from 2011 for parties that existed then): Fine Gael 49 (-27), Labour 6 (-31), Fianna Fail 44 (+24), Sinn Fein 23 (+9), AAA-PBP 5 (+1 from SP and PBP total of 2011), Renua Ireland 0, Social Democrats 3, Green Party 2 (+2), Independent Alliance 5, Independents 16.

Dublin South-Central has finally finished with that recount and Brid Smith becomes the sixth AAA-PBP TD.
As for Longford-Westmeath, it appears that glaciers progress faster than the final count there!

Dublin Bay North has finished and Labour have lost their seat there. ...with ex-Labour TD Tommy Broughan (dewhipped in 2011) getting back in which must really be rubbing salt into an already rather painful mess...

At this point there must be more ex-Labour than Labour TDs in the Dáil.
