Galway East is all but done: 1 Ind, 1 FF. The third seat is between the two remaining FG candidates. Ciaran Cannon should take it.

Laois is the first complete seat. 1 FF, 1 SF, 1 FG. Charles Flanagan elected without quota. Flanagan would have reached the quota if they had bothered transfer the votes of the Labour candidate. Yes - sorry - there was no need as he couldn't have been overhauled.

Catherine Martin has brought the Greens back to the Dail at the expense of Alan Shatter. The Ballsillo moment of the election?

This looks fun. 3 Ind 1FF 1FG expected?

I'd say the FG transfers will go to Labour, so probably 2 Ind, 1 FF, 1 FG, 1 Lab.

Dun Laoghaire: 2 FG, 1 PBP, and Sean Barrett automatically returned. Might end up best FG result of the election.

Looking like Kerry, home of the Healy-Raes, will be the last count to produce its first preference votes. Keeping the best till last.
Or something like that.

Dublin Bay North is also surprisingly slow.

Dublin Bay North is also surprisingly slow. That'll be because there are 20 candidates. There was a full canvass tweeted six hours ago...

First count from Mayo: Enda barely over quota. Don't rule out 2 FG, 2 FF, although more likely 3 FG, 1 FF.

Presumably 3 former FG/FF/Lab etc. voters?

Simon Harris in Wicklow managed to hit the Quota exactly on the second count. Don't know if that's been done before.
