Why do these companies come up with this nonsense and shout "exclusive!" as if their dodgy polling is a badge of honour?

Blame the New Statesman for exclusively featuring it.

I'm running an exit poll, and am proud of the fact I'm not a member of the BPC.

In all fairness I don't give two hoots if a company is a member of the BPC or not. What matters is if they release their full data and are open about their methodology.

The BMG poll is very wide-ranging and extensive compared to other polls-it supports my psephological assumptions about different types of seats where the Liberal Democrats used to perform well (middling to affluent suburbs and cosmopolitan intellectual constituencies; the difference in the Green vote between the two is remarkable and the poll also supports that belief of mine.

I wish polling organisations would ditch the term "Other" and instead give the percentages for all parties that achieve at least 1% after rounding. It would be much more interesting.

No actual numbers, but BMG has been doing internal polling for Labour and focus groups on potential leader has leaked. They found Angela Rayner was viewed as "not likeable", "charity shop looking" and "weird". Rebecca Long Bailey was described as "passionate", "genuine" and "rough". The Times says Corbyn's camp have now decided on Bailey being his successor.

I shall always be consistent and never change my ways so long as I am in my senses; but for the sake of precedent the Senate should beware of binding itself to support the acts of any man, since he might through some mischance suffer a change. (Tiberius)
