Harry Blakely , UKIP councillor for Camborne Pengarve ward on Cornwall UA has resigned . As I predicted when he was elected; UKIP councillors who were elected unexpectedly are not staying the course. They are now down to 3 councillors from the 6 elected in 2013. |

There is 1 deferred elections for 3 seats remaining in June together with another 2 local council by-elections. A total of 24 by-elections have already been called in July along with 6 in August. In addition there are a further 13 known vacancies and impending vacancies, 10 in England, 1 in Scotland and 2 in Wales. Of the total 45 vacancies 11 are as a result of the resignations of the sitting councillors as they are now MPs.

Electoral Services appear to be on permanent answer-phone whilst two calls to the Chief Executive's office has so far failed to elicit the information. |

There is 1 local council by-election remaining in June along with a total of 28 identfied during July. So far another 6 have been called in August together with 1 already in September. In addition there are a further 15 known vacancies and impending vacancies, 10 in England, 3 in Scotland and 2 in Wales. Of the total 51 identified vacancies 15 are as a result of the resignations of the sitting councillors as they are now MPs.

Four parties standing in Long Ditton, Elmbridge Borough Council on 23 July - LD, Cons, UKIP and Green. LD candidate is a former Kingston Councillor who was defeated last year.
