It's a question, also, of how long Finland will want to keep chipping in. There are periodic noises from there. Once people say no more, that's it, no matter how much the Germans want it. Finland's Parliamentary elections are due on the 19th of April this year. We'll see if events in Greece become an election issue there. In an interview a week before Greeks go to the polls, Finnish Prime Minister, Alex Stubb, makes it clear that Finland would not accept a writedown of Greek debt and stresses that the new government should not expect to be offered one. Finland also argued at the most recent Eurogroup for Greece to only receive a one-month bailout extension because a longer one might boost the Finnish eurosceptic parties in domestic elections due in April. link

I'm starting to think the purpose of this election is to boost the Greek economy by creating work for thousands of additional people in the polling industry. Just in case you don't think that there are enough polling companies in Greece here's another one called 'To the Point' To the Point poll, fieldwork 14-15 Jan (changes from previous To the Point poll 15-16 December) SYRIZA 28.7% (+2.0) ND 25.4% (+2.6) To Potami 5.8% (+0.7) Golden Dawn 5.5% (+0.5) PASOK 5.4% (+0.1) KKE 5.4% (+0.4) Independent Greeks 2.5% (-0.6) Kinima 1.9% (+1.9) Other 2.3% (-1.0) Refused 1.7% Undecided 15.4% (-5.6) www.makthes.gr/news/politics/132498/

I would laugh my head off if it was Finland who told the Greeks to piss off, and wonder how the Greeks would try and craft a narrative involving Finns having to pay up because some of their ancestors sacked Constantinople in the 11th century.

I think they'd just do what they do with Germany and bring up World War 2

I think they'd just do what they do with Germany and bring up World War 2 Probably. The Greeks' pathetic attempts to seek cash for their sufferings (which very few still alive suffered) from the Germans (which very few still alive today inflicted) are risible and embarrassing.

Best thing about the poll glut is that polls this late are technically illegal.

If Crete doesn't like Pasok, then Pasok might as well give up.

The last thing SYRIZA want is to just get an overall majority. Some of their MPs might want to try governing alone which would be almost impossible.
