If the statement about Boris actively supporting Marshall-Andrews in Medway in 2005 is true then he ought to be expelled from the Conservative party

She can't be serious, surely? Even in London I've seen plenty of houses like this, and I don't even live there.

Utterly shocked at the Labour capitulation today - not a single teller to be seen. A pretty dreadful way to treat a pretty good candidate imho.

Talking about snobbery and insulting UKIP voters Emily Thornberry just sent this tweet What's the message supposed to be from this tweet? "My goodness how comically vulgar!" perhaps? Neo-classical portico on small houses, large white van to front and decked out with Cross of St. George. Probably upwardly mobile, football enthusiast, small business owner in Essex or Kent who is patriot and possibly one of our supporters? Luuuv.....eeeeeeeet!

So, suppose a defection is out of the question then?

Are we having a prediction competition for Rochester & Strood? My prediction would be: UKIP 50.5%, Con 27.5%, Lab 17%, Green 2%, LD 2%, Others 1%. I hope you're right, Andy, as this pretty much fits with my Election Game prediction of a 7,520 UKIP majority, assuming a turnout of just under 50%. If I can be within about 2,000, I win the 2014 UK byelections round of the Game!

That's interesting Robert: my prediction with Election Game was a UKIP majority of 7,363 so I'm obviously on the same wavelength as you which is encouraging.

Yes, but you live in McIslington, don't you? Are you aware that there is life outside your sneering upper middle class little world?

Labour's general election strategy team must be absolutely fuming at the Emily Thornberry tweet mocking white van man and his English flags. It'll cost them votes in crucial marginals, there can't be much doubt of that. And amazingly it's still up there for all to see. Calm down a bit, yeah?

I would like to thank Emily Thornberry for her service to UKIP and showing how they are close to working people and how they are one of them.

I have lived in lots of places including Manchester, Brmingham, Coventry, Leicester. I remain suspicious of anyone who feels the need to plaster their house or car with flags outside of say a major football tounament. You only have to look at Belfast and Derry or even parts of Scotland to understand why. What are they trying to say?

Well quite a lot of different things I would say John, and mostly quite different to what they would be saying in Belfast or Derry...

Kind of stupid, but the only people who care about twitter shitstorms involving obscure MPs are political obsessives. I would like to thank Emily Thornberry for her service to UKIP and showing how they are close to working people and how they are one of them. Well if you want to play that game then it's not terribly difficult to dig out rather question twattersphere-and-general-intertubes remarks made by kippers and kipper supporters after the S. Yorks police commissar election...
