Ian Walker
Election statement:
Elect Ian Walker to restore confidence in our Police and drive down crime in South Yorkshire.
Conservatives have a common sense five-point action plan to cut crime in South Yorkshire, so hardworking families feel safer in their homes.
Freeing police to fight crime by cutting red tape and scrapping unnecessary targets.
Giving criminals tougher sentences so communities are protected and justice is done.
Giving police the powers they need to tackle criminals, using the latest tools and techniques.
Stopping people becoming criminals by tackling the root causes of crime.
Making police answer to the community to help drive down crime in your area.
Families in South Yorkshire deserve to feel safer and more secure – so all our communities can enjoy a better future.
But people in Rotherham have been badly let down by those who should have protected them. The abuse of girls and boys in Rotherham is horrifying.
Local people want action to improve responses from those dealing with child exploitation, but we also need to investigate the concerns that officials who should have been protecting our young people failed to take their duty of care seriously.
Child sexual exploitation is not exclusive to any culture, community, race or religion.
Ian Walker will be a strong, local champion to speak up for crime victims across South Yorkshire and restore confidence in our police.
He is not tainted by past involvement with the police or local authorities, but has the skill and drive to solve these issues.
Only Ian Walker and the Conservatives have an action plan to cut crime locally and restore confidence in our local police.
Prepared on behalf of Ian Walker by Michael Nicholls, as Election Agent, both of 1(b) South Terrace, Moorgate Street, Rotherham S60 2EU
