The result is going to be declared on Valentines Day. What odds on UKIP Declaring an openly gay candidate , preferably a weather forecaster ? I trust the main one I am thinking of isn't a Ukip supporter given he is Polish-born!

First candidate announced - John Bickley for UKIP Although I'm not a UKIP supporter, I think it's a shame that it's not Chris Cassidy. Thanks! I would of really loved to stand, but it would be totally silly putting me up when I'm still so young. I met John on Saturday, and he's a really top guy! I'm more than happy letting him look after my seat for me in this election .

Labour shortlist confirmed from Labour List
Rosa Battle is a Manchester City Councillor, serving on the council executive as the member for Culture and Leisure. The Battle family are prominent in Manchester politics – her father Jim is Deputy Police Comissioner and her uncle is former MP John Battle.
Catherine Hynes represents Urmston Ward as a councillor on Trafford Council. She was elected to the council in May 2012.
Mike Kane was a councillor in Northenden, and is a former teacher. More recently he’s been acting Chief Exec of Movement for Change, leading on their payday lenders campaign. He’s thought by many to be the frontrunner for the seat.
Suzannah Reeves is a Manchester City Councillor, representing Old Moat ward. She’s a Director at Oldham Sixth Form College, and was once involved in a row over Aidan Burley’s conduct during a Holocaust talk at Auschwitz.
Sophie Taylor is the councillor for Clifford Ward on Trafford Council. She’s also an NHS Physiotherapist & MMU lecturer.

Always some who are sufficiently self hating. Just listening to Farage promoting bringing back grammar schools, scrapping green energy in favour of nuclear power and increasing defence spending. I would never want to support a party with those priorities.

I doubt we would ever want the support of a self-righteous, arrogant, self-deluded auto-response robotwat though, so don't worry yourself on our behalf.

Constituency canvassing is taking place in W&SE. No idea who it is though, Ashcroft perhaps? Listing four candidates for the main parties......

I'd go with Battle if I were Labour- solid local name recognition, long-standing local pedigree and by accounts very likeable. Sophie Taylor has some local name recognition, as of course does Kane. Hynes is a mystery to me, despite her having been active in my old haunts when I was as well- I could name a dozen local Labour activists in and around that ward before I'd remember her.

Even I will admit that UKIP is (significantly) less bad than the BNP, tbf. (though as joe implied, Pimp can dish it out as well as take it )
