Councillor Mark Logan (Ind Res) Rainham Ward, LB Havering disqualified due to 6 month non attendance.No by election as 6 month rule applies.But this is more than meets the eye: www.theenquirer.co.uk/read.aspx?id=14024He is also ex BNP. That reminds me of the BNP councillor somewhere a few years ago who was disqualified not much more than six months after being elected because he didn't realise that he was supposed to attend council meetings. |

That reminds me of the BNP councillor somewhere a few years ago who was disqualified not much more than six months after being elected because he didn't realise that he was supposed to attend council meetings. Have you heard the one about the woman who sued her solicitors, because they didn't tell her that getting a divorce meant her marriage would be over? John Morgan , Conservative ( but now Independent ) councillor for Wantage Charlton ward on Vale Of White Horse DC has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for theft of a pensioner's savings . A by election will be held although he has 28 days right of appeal .

Given this ward includes the islands of Eigg, Muck and Rùm, as well as a huge expanse of highlands, I wouldn't expect a quick result.
Given the geography it's a bit surprising that two out of three councillors come from the Caol area, and the third lives outside the ward south of Fort William. The majority of the population of the ward live there but in an area like this, they need to ensure Mallaig and the west doesn't miss out.

Given this ward includes the islands of Eigg, Muck and Rùm, as well as a huge expanse of highlands, I wouldn't expect a quick result. Highland always count the next day anyway, so I doubt the geography will make that much difference to their usual post-midday declarations. |
