Given it wouldn't be a sure thing, I can understand why he's not seeking the nomination, but wouldn't the previously Hon Member for Dunfermline & West Fife have been a good candidate for the Lib Dems?

The SNP should bring in some big hitters to liven up their campaign,Sean Connery perhaps. If Sir Sean can find the time between Spain and the States, it'd be lovely to see him. Maybe he could, along with Alan Cummings, bring a cheque for the tax they have avoid paying for the past years. Of course, Alan Cummings is returning to Scotland to vote, whilst retaining his home in the States, something his fellow Scots who have continued to pay their taxes in the UK, but not resident in Scotland, will not be able to do. My next door neighbour is, after 64 years in Scotland, now resident in Blackburn for the past 3 years to be close to his daughter and grandchildren. He won't have a vote, but fly-by-night richboy Cummings will. Funny old world.

He would have been a good candidate, but under current circumstances would be unlikely to win, having to resign his list seat to stand, and thus, in all likelihood leaving his party needing another new leader at Holyrood. I think that would be rather an own goal. I expect him to go for NE Fife in 2016.

Apparently one or two Nats are a bit peeved over Shirley-Ann's selection. Seen as a snub to Yes Scotland and putting her political career over the "cause".

I think the thing which rankles most is that it is one less woman working for Yes Scotland, which has allowed some to highlight the lack of favour that independence has amongst the female voter. I see she's now claiming to live in Fife. In 2011 she was claiming to live in Edinburgh, but she wasnt on the electoral register there...

Being on the electoral register is not always proof of residency. Not that it matters in legal terms for a nomination anyway.

Still questions to be asked as to why the Depute Fiscal was overruled by the Lord Advocate and a trial in front of a sherrif (with a max term of 12 months) as opposed to trial by Jury (max term 5 years).

She'll also attract Green activists from across the Central Belt to go and campaign for her in a way that a more generic Green candidate would not.

Apparently Peter Adams is to be the candidate www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24188255Apparently he ran as UKIP's candidate for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath in the 2005 and 2010 general elections and was also their lead candidate in the 2009 European election in Scotland although for some reason he is apparently not one of the candidates for the 2014 Euro elections.

Think this is the John black of the Scottish Jacobite Party. If it isn't him it should be. Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Gretna will join the Scottish Premier League. The Premier League teams will be Nationalised and all grounds brought up to an International Standard. Foreign players will be banned. TV revenues will be divided equally among the Premier League teams. Bit outdated on the Gretna bit :-) scottishjacobites.com/Yep it is the same JB
