Lilleshall, Donnington & Muxton Parish Council by-election tonight also: Candidates: UKIP - Thomas Hoof Labour - Cllr John Thompson borough councillor for Park ward in Wellington, a parish councillor on Wrockwardine Wood & Trench Parish Council and a member of Shropshire Fire Authority. Independent - Rose Gregory is a volunteer worker and former councillor and a member of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Co-operative Council Commission.

So I guess the students in Loughborough are all Tories? We discussed this about a year ago when the Tories made a shock gain from Labour in a nearby by-election (the winning candidate tonight stood for Labour then, btw) The consensus did seem to be that the university electorate was a bit more right wing than is usual. It is still a hell of a drop for the Tories if that result is correct, though.
