I do think there's probably a story there... I did have a look for the SOPN without success (to see if any home addresses were given).

It's not unknown. I have already posted on the Stockport thread about Maureen Marston in Offerton/Vernon ward losing her seat to the Liberals when her husband stood as a Communist.

Just to note that the indy in Clydebank is actually a member of the Scottish Family Party. Seems to be the main thing he wants to achieve is to change eligibility for legal aid... as a local councillor...

I had not clocked that this is one of the only Greenwich wards with Tory Councillors left, and even this one split in 2022.

No surely that's wrong- if there are still two councillors in Greenwich, and of the two elected in this ward one has died, there must be one somewhere else? I haven't looked up the details but your comment makes no sense to me?

No I think that's wrong too, or at least out of date. I think there is indeed only one other Tory left in Greenwich and they have lost all the other Eltham seats- except I think its the Avery Hill one where there is anther lone Tory. Two,I think , doesn't count as several. Maybe the change to 2-member wards finished them off?

I thought it was 3, but you're right, it is just those 2 wards. But it is correct that they no longer hold a full slate in any ward, and that is definitely unprecedented.

Probably would have happened in 1994/98 on these kind of ward boundaries, but there were several single member wards in Greenwich then

I have memories of Labour standing an octogenarian candidate in I think Eltham Park ward in one of those elections, and the Tories holding it pretty comfortably

Andrew’s preview covered the Coldharbour Estate in detail but I wonder whether the Tory vote comes mainly from the New Eltham part of the ward?
