Bill Thorkildsen, the Reform UK councillor, was elected as a Lib Dem in Low Spennymoor and Tudhoe Grange ward in the by-election on 8 June 2023.

Liss Owen will take the LD group to 4 (the numbers you give were true until yesterday's by-election). A number of Labour/Independent councillors had been elected under the other label, I believe, and have since switched between the groups.

Thanks kennedyfan, I stand corrected. Spennymoor Town Council has 22 members and the new make-up is Ind 9, Lab 8, Lib Dem 4, Reform UK 1.
The town mayor and deputy town mayor are both Labour.
