Only speculative but given the seriousness this is probably the right thread. Private Eye have carried articles today featuring Jonathan Nunn, leader of West Northants Council. Alleges serious domestic violence to both first and second wives. Lib Dem and Labour groups have called on him to resign - no statement from majority Tory group as of yet. Conservative Councillors had been starting to go public withdrawing support so he had probably run out of road. Not resigning his seat yet, but maybe that is just a matter of time now? |

It's worth noting that whilst he claims it is a campaign orchestrated by one person (reading between the lines, it's not hard to guess who) we are now up to 5 of his former partners who have accused him of domestic violence.

I stayed in the youth hostel at Rhenigidale, before they punched the road through. It was only accessible by boat or on foot. We parked on the road between Tarbert and Scalpay, climbed over a mountain pass and along the cliffs - an exhilarating walk of three hours.

I always quite like the idea of traveling around and visiting various byelection wards as they come up. This one would probably require more effort than some! |
