Quite a few middle class and "respectable" people are racist as well - they just tend (*tend*) not to be as overtly crude about it. Utterly baffling to me, oh well. I'm in an inter-racial marriage, obviously. My future children will be biracial. No place for racism in 2024. Are you planning to move to the US by then then?

When I was younger and someone said they were "half Irish" or "half Chinese", I would always ask them "which half?". It's been a while since then.

As a term it is limited as it can only cover 2 heritages. My kids have French, Cambodian and British heritage and you could argue the British bit is in itself mixed...

Oh, clever. However with a right-handed shunt I can reach Warwick Avenue, blocking the northbound Jubilee line for three moves.

Greenwich, Eltham Town & Avery Hill (2026) - Sammy Backon (LAB) has resigned after moving out of the area. x.com/ElthamAveryLab/status/1834310009200500883Unclear at this stage if his partner - Greenwich, West Thamesmead (2026) - Chris Lloyd (LD, elected LAB, was IND) will follow.

Tories may fancy their chances there. Labour narrowly topped Eltham Town, IIRC. Backton won his seat by 2.3%.
