Absolutely disgraceful result. Just as these Alliance vermin get exterminated in one seat that pop up somewhere else and con their way into yet another unionist seat. Donaldson + not selecting Givan badly hurt the DUP. The results in North Down and Belfast East are far more important. Indeed, and all being well this seat should return to the Unionist column next time, still a horrible result. |

I take the eccentric view that seats are in fact in the gift of voters rather than constitutional traditions. But regardless of that, there's no con here. Everybody who voted Alliance knows that the Alliance are not a unionist party, they just did not consider that to be a dealbreaker for them. |
