Are we supposed to follow the advice of Donald Kennedy in making our decision about for whom we wish to vote? Is he a source of great wisdom and insight, just because of who his dead ill drunk father was? My nephew and Donald Kennedy walked past each other at the Imperial War Museum when they were both about 7. Their parents (my sister and Charles Kennedy) made no sign of noticing or recognising each other, because they were each too busy in shepherding their small children in and out of the café.

Is he a source of great wisdom and insight, just because of who his dead ill drunk father was? Another unnecessarily critical 'I am not convinced by this' comment. The whole point is to make a heuristic association between Charles Kennedy and the Liberal Democrat candidate as they believe that is still positively evocative. Though I hope your use of adjectives made you feel something.

No, because few of us live in the constituency of Inverness, Skye & West Ross-shire. Those who do can give such an endorsement whatever weight they choose. Endorsements by family members of deceased MPs/councillors are not unusual.

As a new member here, I'm oft-surprised at the level of vitriol/nastiness permitted (e.g., there was another post calling May a "stupid b*itch" for calling the 2017 election). Ah well- I suppose each forum has its own culture/ToS...

Ah well- I suppose each forum has its own culture/ToS... We're generally quite friendly, though many of us have been together through various iterations since, well, Vote 2012. So we're rather more like blokes down the pub than men in the classroom, as it were. (Though I miss much of the worst of it, my block list has eighteen users on it!)

Seconded and the above post from JohnLoony should be deleted.

Ah well- I suppose each forum has its own culture/ToS... As a former member of the admin team on here I have to say that any suggestion that behaviour should be (at least) courteous tends to be shouted down by a small minority as an assault on freedom of expression. But, by and large, we are better than the worst of us. Please stay and enjoy.

Endorsements by family members of deceased MPs/councillors are not unusual. Gnerally speaking, no; but an endorsement from someone who was a child when the politician was active is not exactly worth anything.

Oddly, you are not the arbiter of what voters are allowed to consider to be worth anything.

Is this seat seriously in contention for the Lib Dems? The user poll seems to think so, but they have an awful lot of ground to make up.
It would lovely to see another chunk of yellow removed from the map. Any news from the ground?
