The SNP is on a tight budget, so our campaign is highly targeted. If the computer thinks you're either a definite SNP or definite not SNP voter you will have gotten at most one leaflet so far. Swing voters should be up to three mailings each. Then it was all postal voter letters this weekend. How are volunteer levels holding up? Volunteers are plentiful. Like, the last couple of weekends I would have happily done more deliveries but everything was accounted for already.

I'm getting a ticket to the election count here, will be the first time I've attended a parliamentary count since the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election in 2011, so looking forward to going.

No, Kristofer, it is a big mistake to do so. Be with friends in a nice environment, a wall of TV sets, comfy chairs, books and charts and tables to put them on; a good buffet and a drinks table; access to a fridge and icemaker and fizzy water tap; good loo and a shower room; a mixture of intelligent people and not too many nerds. That's the way to do it.

East Kilbride and Strathaven is a relatively early declarer - a result is expected at 1.30am - and the counting venue is just around the corner from my flat. So I could probably try to swing doing both!

Labour now have an office set up in the town centre, but I've also been told that local activists have been advised to go to either Paisley or Cumbernauld instead, so I'm not very clear as to whether they think they can win the seat or not. Still never seen any sign of any activists out and about. Sounds like, not.

Still never seen any sign of any activists out and about. Sounds like, not. This is a complete misread. Labour are diverting resources to Paisley North, North Ayrshire and Cumbernauld because they are confident of winning large parts of the central belt (including this seat, which is a more likely gain). That's also why you are seeing the SNP focusing on Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, because they are losing large parts of the Central Belt.

Cough, cough - yes we are in agreement - I read Kris' post as SNP being sent to Paisley or Cumbernauld (on the basis they would not win here) & I agree that this seat should be an easier Lab pick-up.

I'm still yet to actually see a single Labour activist out and about in the constituency, but Labour are definitely spending money with prominent billboards going up and addressed flyers coming via Royal Mail.
Only party other than Labour or SNP that's sent me anything so far is a Royal Mail-delivered Reform leaflet that arrived same day as the Labour one. I've also seen piles of Scottish Family Party leaflets being left in a few stairwells of flats.

I would opt for two other than myself. And I shall be alone for the night and probably in bed and possibly asleep. When I awake typically about 04.30 there will be much to read here and skim through very fast and plenty of real hard fact results. I have an Apple iPad and a wall mounted TV so no need to shift out of bed. But in past years I have had great election evenings. A bit old for them now. But my advice is sound for those of any age. Go to a count once when young and excited and then give it a miss.

Have now received leaflets from Labour (royal mail) and the SNP (in an envelope with no stamp attached, so I assume by an activist) and Reform's mailshot, not seen any other activity though. It would be weird for Labour to send activists away from the constituency given the amount of money clearly getting spent here.
Talking of Cumbernauld, Labour do seem to be spending a similar amount here as there (at least in terms of targeted online ads), which sort of makes sense as I'd put the two seats in the same difficulty bracket for them.

Been out delivering more letters and just finally bumped into Labour for the first time - Cllr Matthew Buchanan (East Kilbride South) and three other activists out knocking doors.

Keir Starmer visiting on the final day presumably suggests Labour think they have this in the bag or labour will get the media gotcha that Starmer had after the locals when they failed to gain overall control of a council (was it Basilson?) that Starmer visited the evening before polling day. Tanks very much parked on the SNP lawn.
