And I am surprised to learn that Labour put in "a huge effort" in Bath. It wasn't a designated target seat, and nobody (probably not even graham!) seriously thought a Labour gain possible. Are you quite sure about that? When I said "drop in vote" I should have added "share", so apologies for that. Certainly in my part of Bath, Labour did put a lot of effort in, and got a due reward with many posters up and much increased visibility. Obviously nobody, including them (I assume), expected a win, but it was well-known locally what they wanted to achieve, and they were successful in that. They have a large membership here, so presumably could afford to have activity here as well as more properly targeting better prospects close by, like NE Somerset and Hanham.

But again, there was no drop in Labour vote share. That's simply not correct.
