I'm very sorry you're campaigning in Holborn. I regard Andrew Feinstein as an anti-Semite & would urge you to reconsider. Yes I do know he's Jewish, that makes no difference I'm afraid. This is interesting to me - and I come from a position of basic ignorance - how can someone Jewish ever be anti-Semitic? Do disagreements in other cultures/religions result in one side being 'othered'? If I'm not mistaken (I often am) isn't saying that Jews can't be anti-semitic a form of anti-Semitism in itself?

"No compromise with the electorate" meets the electorate This would suggest that a lot of Labour voters in Islington North are really, really stupid. They are going to get the Labour government they want regardless of what happens in this constituency. No, just not engaged with politics We have a fine grained fascination with politics, most people see it in very simple terms - if you want the Tories out vote Labour. It's not stupidity to spend virtually no time in deciding where your vote goes.

The Tories will hold Chingford but Romford will be marginal? Yes because Faiza Shaheen will split the left-wing vote in Chingford but Romford will be marginal because Reform will eat into the Tory vote. And Reform won't eat into Chingford's Tory vote?

Illuminating segments on Corbyn's fight to hold on as an independent, and why he isn't backing a large gaggle of independents across the country (regrettably IMHO).
Some people talk like Corbyn is the second coming of Jesus Christ. I get he's an assiduous constituency MP, but many of these people are from miles away from here.
Labour candidate refusing to attend debates as I understand it. Tories and Labour not interested in a general debate here. Islington North Labour =/= democratic. The more I watch, the more I wouldn't mind all of the following winning: Jezza, Andrew Feinstein, Emma Dent Coad, Leanne Mohamad, Sam Gorst, and Faiza Shaheen.

Reform will of course do what you describe "eat into Chingford's Tory vote" but Faiza Shaheen will take more from Labour than right wing IDS will lose to Reform. It's just a shame Faiza probably won't benefit from the vote splitting between the Conservatives, Labour, Reform, the Lib Dems and the rest to actually win the seat.

Rosindell is known for being quite rightwing as well He also has a larger margin than IDS The non incumbent independent left wing challengers to Labour will fizzle out in this election. I can see a space for them if there's a Labour government, but if Corbyn's struggling then other independents will be lucky to save deposits.

Faiza's supporters are perhaps motivated by slightly different issues and to greater degree and with a different order of prioritisation than people voting for Corbyn because he's a nice old man who's been MP for donkey's years. Similarly, and I'm not endorsing this in any way shape or form and Wes is a nice guy on a persona level I'm sure, but there are different reasons for Muslims to vote against Streeting than just his stance on Gaza - I don't like identity politics and I abhor homophobia but I'm confident the former will manifest in Ilford North and the latter will, sadly, have purchase (look at Qu'ran).

It's more that they want to be able to say they voted for the winning party, shallow maybe, but not necessarily really stupid.

I'm sorry to say this but you have acted similarly IIRC when I said I would vote for the Greens in Hackney because I was dissatisfied with the disciplinary process agains Diane and Jeremy. We will have to agree to disagree yet again, and for the avoidance of doubt, I don't give a fuck what you think. Stump for whomever you wish.

Maybe accusing Jews of being anti-semitic is a form of anti-Semitism. It can be very confusing when you broaden the definition of anti-Semitism to such an absurd degree as some tend to do.

No, there are a small number of Jews who are anti-Semitic by any reasonable definition. Gilad Atzmon would be one, for example.
The fact that *some* people - particularly of the Likudist variety - wildly overuse and indeed abuse the term is totally true, but also not relevant to the above.

In which case you definition is not reasonable. Anti-Semitism is hatred of people on because they are Jewish, either ethnically or religiously. Outside of a few utter cranks I doubt that there are Jewish people who hate other Jews because they are Jewish.

It bears repeating: - the whole Jezza schtick is based on the idea that a tonne of high-information voters will turn out for him. - general elections see the highest turnout of low-information voters. - the first bit was questionable to start with.

While Corbyn is working to get 2,000 volunteers out for him on election day - many do not live here and may have the opposite effect when 'swamping' the seat.

If you're being serious, yes there are people I'm aware of some people campaigning for Jeremy Corbyn, Leanne Mohamad, and Faiza Shaheen.

I was walking around Islington North for a while today, looking for signs of the election campaign.
I saw posters saying "Vote Corbyn" in several shops and in dozens of private homes' windows, and literally none for the Labour Party. I saw no campaigners or canvassers.
On the pavement I found a bedraggled and soggy leaflet for the Conservative candidate, who rather optimistically portrays herself as the "change" candidate (e.g. "Did you know there are ZERO Conservative Councillors in Islington Council? Imogen will be your strong local advocate, holding the Labour-run Council to account!").
I am experienced enough to know that the number of visible posters for candidates is not necessarily a reliable indicator of the level of support (or votes) for a candidate or party, but it did make me wonder why or how the Labour Party hasn't managed to work up a poster operation in response; and the ratio of number of locations where I saw posters (Corbyn 28, Labour 0) is overwhelming enough to make me think that Corbyn is going to win.

I don't believe a poster has swayed a single voter from changing their vote or a non voter being inspired to vote.
A load of nonsense, those who stick up a board or poster are v mainly about sycophants sucking up to the local party in hope of a favour, cllr opportunity etc etc

The 'Corbyn army' of 2,000 campaign workers on election day may alienate voters rather than winning them over. Many aren't from Islington North or London at all.

Unfortunately for Corbyn you have to stick with the electorate you're given, can't just bus 'em in like you do with your coterie.
