CORBYN 51% LAB 28% CON 9% LD 9% GRN 2% OTH 1% If that is your prediction, you should write “I predict:” at the beginning, otherwise people will be misled into thinking you are writing something useful or informative like a constituency poll. With all due respect Johnny (and I am a bit tipsy), I shall take no lectures on 'informative' or 'useful' content from a Monster Raving Loony Party shill.

I never claimed it was a poll of Islington North! I only make predictions! I'm not a pollster! I prefer the term "forecast"

It think such 'predictions' should be banned and deleted from the thread. It is bloody confusing when some idiot guesses a few numbers and posts it as if it is informing us. You actually prefer pundits, journos, pollsters and other media shysters above our distinguished members?

I prefer the term "forecast" The problem is that you didn’t specify that it *wasn’t* a constituency poll, thereby leading people to assume that it was a constituency opinion poll but without the citation of the source / pollster.

As Kipling might have observed, "What do they know of Islington North, who only Islington North know?" As Samuel Johnson probably didn't observe, "If a man is tired of Islington North, he is tired of life."

Johnson disliked women & music, so he has never struck me as a man of wisdom.

As Kipling might have observed, "What do they know of Islington North, who only Islington North know?" Aha! The well known Preston Syndrome!

I don't really have a problem with it, and I didn't think it was a poll. I think there is a place, i.e. a usefulness, to predictions and the discussion of them. Discussing how you think someone will do and why is a useful way to share knowledge and insights.

I live across the road from Corbyn's constituency and lived a stone's throw from Jeremy's stomping ground for two years before moving to Hackney. I apologise wholehearedty to anyone who thought I was a pollster. Im 27 and don't ave the £££££ to conduct a pol, sorry. Apologies for not making it clearer my post was a forecast/hot take/prediction (delete as appropriate).

What on earth makes you contend that the latter would be better or useful or informative? A properly-conducted constituency-level opinion poll of the voting intentions of a thousand people in one constituency would be a better indicator of the likely result than the random prediction of one person with no context.

As Kipling might have observed, "What do they know of Islington North, who only Islington North know?" Islington is a neighbouring borough. They do things differently there.

OK, but we don't have one yet. Come back Lord Ashcroft, all is forgiven! I am as familiar with Islington North as you are with Croydon Central.
