I did for him to be PM! And this is how he repays me. All so he doesn’t have to apologise to Jewish people. Shameful! I think he was completely right, and I'm not interested about supporting pro-Israel - now that's shameful. I really don't want Starmer's Labour. this really does not do you credit Mike. All he had to do was acknowledge that there had been serious antisemitism in the party on his watch - he didn't have to say "I was a revolting anti-Semite" or anything like that, it wasn't necessary. Instead he just tried to minimise it, say it hadn't been that bad. But to those of us on the end of it, it was incredibly upsetting. Your lack of empathy for us as Jews is not a good look. Supporting the Palestinians is not dishourable. Supporting what Corbyn said after the EHRC, I'm afraid, just is. Jewish members of the Labour Party got excreta through their letter boxes from their supposed comrades in the Party, just for being Jewish. It was that serious. Why could Corbyn not react like a grown-up to the report? Nobody is asking you to be nice to Keir Starmer or endorse his policies. But it is not unreasonable to expect you to show a little concern for members of an ethnic minority who suffered actual racism from members of their own party. And it's nothing to do with Israel or Palestine. It was racism.

Are the Greens going to stand here against Corbyn? They are fishing for the same more-left-than-Labour voters and he will surely beat the Greens to them. Would Greens want a deal where they endorse him in return for him endorsing them in Brighton and Bristol? Would he do want to do that or is there too much residual loyalty to Labour? Corbyn should just join the Green Party. He's a perfect fit for them - antisemitic, hard-left, pro-Hamas, anti-Western, gender-fanatical, delusional, virtue-signalling crank.

That comment reminds me of a general election result in one of the small Caribbean countries (I forget where/when) in which one party won every single seat, so one of the backbench MPs volunteered to defect to the opposition party in order to make sure that there was someone with the position and salary of the Leader of the Opposition.

What he said and was disproportionately punished for was said by the EHRC report to be totally acceptable and reasonable to say , that is that factions within the party and outside overstated the scale of anti Semitism claim. JC : “One antisemite is one too many, but the scale of the problem was also dramatically overstated for political reasons by our opponents inside and outside the party, as well as by much of the media.” EHRC report says "Article 10 will protect Labour Party members who...have opinions on internal Party matters, such as the scale of antisemitism within the Party, based on their own experience and within the law." I'm aware of the quote. No he was not disproportionately punished. Why say that the scale of the problem was overstated? It just wasn't. Are you Jewish? Do you have the slightest idea how traumatic it was to be a Jewish member of the Labour Party during his leadership? Even if the scale of the problem HAD been overstated by a very small number of people, this was not the time to harp on about it. It was the time for contrition. We got none. He deserves his fate. And I was one of his very strongest supporters.

This statement by Corbyn followed ofc several apologies by him on behalf of the party for people who had been racist. Bu for all the headlines about “mounting antisemitism” in Labour, we were never given any sense of its scale. Data released by the party in February 2019 showed that it had received 1,100 complaints of antisemitism, of which just 673 regarded actual Labour members. The party membership stood then at over half a million: the allegations, even if they were true, concerned around 0.1 percent of the total. And further no one could ever give an example of hatred within a CLP meeting. Most cases were spats and insults thrown about online I encountered actual antisemitism during a Labour Party meeting, from a Jewish JVL member. We had never seen him at a meeting before. We never saw him afterwards. He left the party thankfully. But what a bastard. And my friend Steve encountered far, far, far worse than I did at both branch & general meetings of his CLP. It was disgraceful. Utterly disgraceful. You don't have a fucking clue what you are talking about.

I’m sure he has many great qualities and I hope he wins, but Praful Nargund does look like he comes straight out of central casting. He looks as if he’s about to tell me 9/10 dentists would recommend Sensodyne for sensitive teeth. x.com/politlcsuk/status/1793980716080038335?s=46Vote Jeremy Corbyn!! How nice that I get to vote in this seat rather than you.😀

Anyone claiming racism in Labour meetings needs to be more straightforward and state exactly what happened. Where. And when. There was lots of exagerration, lies, bullshit and horseshit used to undermine and destroy the left.

No sympathy here for Diane, treated abominably (and the MP receiving by far the most racist material by post and online) and now a story laughing at a Caribbean country. Mmmm What was the country and when? I was laughing at the fact that an MP crossed the floor to claim the official opposition role with a full wage ect.

The leader of the opposition now is Ralph Thorne, who didn't volunteer to be the LOTO but left the governing party in February this year to do so. Here is his view on the situation:

VoteBarbados Forums can't be as vibrant as VoteUK At least when they say "Only the BLP can win here", they are being honest!

2022 locals. The Greens' next best ward after Highbury was Tufnell Park where they almost won a seat.

You’re saying you disbelieve Jews who have suffered racism because you think we are liars. That’s exactly what happened to me in a CLP meeting. You can do one

Someone is going to pay for a constituency poll here...surely?
The ensuing fireworks would be worth the money alone...
