Where is Corybn's vote share on this prediction? It's twaddle. They've tried to row back though the damage is done. Even Labour supporters are laughing!

I feel the better advice for Starmer would be to say as little about this seat as he can. Attacks on Corbyn will undoubtedly lead to attacks from the left of our party in retaliation and give the newly independent candidate more publicity for his campaign. Whoever stands for Labour has an enormous fight on their hands. I am very sad it has come to this, with the political will on both sides it could have been avoided but we are where we are.

Labour should welcome attacks from the Left, it highlights the supposed new sanity In the short term perhaps, but it leads to longer term divisions and when Government becomes difficult you need all the friends you can muster. It is disappointing that no compromise candidate could be found that could have been agreeable to Corbyn and the Islington North CLP to stop this division .Instead, as we so often do on the left, we chose to fight each other.

Was this based on him not being a candidate or something?

Was this based on him not being a candidate or something? No, uniform swing. A wonderful tool but doesn't account for Corbyn.

The Labour Party would need to be on "the left" for this to be an in-fight.

The danger for Labour is surely to do anything other than ignore him. If they start trying to paint him as a crank, the obvious Tory and LD response will be- well, why did you try to make him Prime Minister?

I’m sure he has many great qualities and I hope he wins, but Praful Nargund does look like he comes straight out of central casting. He looks as if he’s about to tell me 9/10 dentists would recommend Sensodyne for sensitive teeth. x.com/politlcsuk/status/1793980716080038335?s=46

If Reform get 8% in Islington N, surely that would put Richard Tice in Downing Street?!

Are the Greens going to stand here against Corbyn? They are fishing for the same more-left-than-Labour voters and he will surely beat the Greens to them. Would Greens want a deal where they endorse him in return for him endorsing them in Brighton and Bristol? Would he do want to do that or is there too much residual loyalty to Labour?

That's just fantasy thinking. I'd be pretty certain there'll be a Green candidate in Islington North and no incentives for the Greens to endorse Corbyn and I'm far from convinced any endorsement from him would be helpful.
