Re Cazenove, there is a very strong strictly Orthodox Jewish population although like every British ward it is not majority Jewish. Strictly-Orthodox politics are very hard to understand even for some in that community let alone the rest of us. It is clear that Ian Sharer has polled very strongly indeed in that community but also attracted many other anti-Labour votes outside it too. Without him it was always likely that the LD vote would not compete, but the extent of the anti-Labour vote is still a surprise despite the odd circumstances. Re Richmond upon Thames Hampton N some here didn’t understand that the Green success was purely down to them being unopposed for one seat; in an actual contest they never had the slightest chance.
