If the polls showing Reform UK on 10% or 11% are accurate, what would be benchmarks for their performance in Rossington & Bawtry and in the two Bolton contests (where they are allied with "Bolton for Change").

Andrew is on home turf this week with his preview - an epic account of Bolton, pages long but worth every word. He points out that Kearsley is pronounced Cursley and not Keirsley.

The A666 dual carriageway at the western end of Kearsley ward is called St Peter's Way. Which may be a reference to its fatal accident record.

I note that YouGov has Labour and Conservatives down by 5% and SNP, Green and Reform up 4% over the last week. I assume Reform going up is related to Cameron becoming a cabinet minister and note that LD, Green and SNP, plus a third of all labour MPs voted for a ceasefire in Gaza. So I will be interested to see if there is any shift in voting at a local government level. I assume the Conservative vote is going to go down even further, but am not sure whether the LD/Green vote will go up due to the split in Labour policy on Israel/Palestine.

I believe The questions that delve into more detail on such things attributes the drop of Conservative support/ increase in Reform to the sacking of Braverman rather than anything related to Cameron.

andrewp thanks. Why do you think Labour is dropping too, though?

It]s funny that, being from round these parts, I've never really thought of it being pronounced any other way than "cursley" but I suppose it isnt obvious on reflection!
